Hawker Hurricane 90th anniversary STGB - will it be the unsung hero of the Battle of the Bunfight?

2025 will mark the 90th anniversary of the first flight of the Hawker Hurricane, at Brooklands on 6 November 1935.

Any interest in marking the milestone and in celebrating the Hurricane with a STGB? Think of all those beautiful Arma Hobby Hurricanes that can get built!

 

I am happy to host, but if there any Hurricane experts and aficionados that are particularly keen I’d be happy to defer to you and co-host.

Given that my profile picture is of my dad sitting in a Hurricane cockpit (RAF Maiduguri 1944/45), he was ground crew with 1560 Met Flight. I feel duty bound to take part, so count me in.

I will need to build R.S.S.Tuck’s IIc at some point. I want to convert another IIc to a IId. I wouldn't mind doing a Sea Hurricane or SEAC hurricane.

Yes, and I've got a pretty good history of Hurricane models from a 2-blade pre-war   thru to a IID with 40mm, and Sea Hurris.

Just missing a rocket projectile Hurricane, single overall colour  -  so I know what to look for.

Some AZ kits added to my wishlist.

I'd love to do a Rag Wing with you in 1/48. Got a choice between Classic Airframes and a Hasegawa with an MDC conversion.  I'm sure it will be the conversion as I never seem to take the path of least resistance!
