Popular Post woody37
Hi all, A quick sanity build after the Hampden, I only started this last week, pretty fast for me! A lovely kit moulded in the later darker plastic. There's a few fiddly bits in it and I've replaced the wheels and exhausts with resin parts. Also replaced the overly chunky pitot tube on the tail with alloy tubing. A few odd things such as having to paint the D-Day stripes, but the blue background for the reg letters is included on the decal but doesn't quite match up to the paint used. Goes together very well although fitting the gear in the narrow bays is a bit fiddly. An enjoyable build from start to finish, the decals conform beautifully with the assistance of Microsol, even that striped tail decal which I was dreading! All weathering done in the usual soft pastel. Thanks for looking, Neil 99

David H
Looks beautiful, Woody! Having stalled out on my Tamiya-Brengun conversion ordeal, a nice easy way out sounds very appealing to me right now... -d-

georgeusa
Lovely build of the glass nose Mosquito in the small scale. I particularly like the finish/weathering you have achieved as it is quite effective, but not overdone.

woody37
Thanks all for the comments Some of the finer detail in the kit is a bit clunky, the frames look overly thick on the windscreen and the guide rails on the undercarriage legs for the doors would weigh a couple of tons being as thick as they are, but the panel lines are much more refined than previous kits so going the right way. I've got a B.XVI too so got the appetite to build that one too.

FinnAndersen
Very nice Mossie and a striking scheme. Having done some Tamiya and know about the problem of painting the canopy frames (for the benefit of the uneducated: There was some internal frames, which was not painted the outside colour) A minor detail, which is unrelated to the high quality of the model: The squadron was No. 60 SAAF, not RAAF. /Finn

Spitfire31
Who doesn't love a Mosquito in PRU Blue? That livery really brings out the beautiful and purposeful de Havilland lines. Superb modelling! Kind regards, Joachim
