Spanish Harrier - AV-8B Plus Harrier II, RIAT 2019, 1:72 Hasegawa

Recommended Posts

The only type of Harrier with the nickname "Matador" were the AV-8S, which were actually American AV-8A based on the Gr.1.
The AV-8B Harriers used by the Spanish Navy were not given the "Matador" nickname.  The name is not correct either the double designation II and Plus at the same time and also putting an E in front of it. The second generation Harriers used by Spain were called Harrier AV-8B and AV-8B II or AV-8B Plus, but never EAV-8B II Plus.

  • alex_stela changed the title to Spanish Harrier - AV-8B Plus Harrier II, RIAT 2019, 1:72 Hasegawa

Excellent model - great realistic finish.

01-925 is the Harrier that had a brake fire as it taxied in to its spot on arrival on the Wednesday.

Lots of dramatic smoke as the fire tenders arrived - I took a few photos if anyone is interested.

Very nicee! What are these colours?

FS36231 on top and FS 36320 underside. I used Mr. Color C317 and C307, lightening them slightly. This particular aircraft also had a light grey radome with an "almost white" underside, but this is not standard on Spanish Harriers.
