Popular Post follasha
I've converted the Airfix C-47 (for 2nd time) to a post-war DC-3 'Skyliner" with the 17" windows that were added to National Airways Corporation (New Zealand) DC-3s during the 1960s. I built up a passenger interior for it with 28 seats. The aircraft is portrayed as ZK-AWP which is still flown in this livery (but operated by local Air Chathams today). There is something about the DC-3 in this red livery...its quite spectacular IMG_7632 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_7647 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_7652 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_7660 by Harry Follas, on Flickr IMG_7674 by Harry Follas, on Flickr 103
Paul J
Just got to love a DC3. Very nice builds. I take it the decals are Old Models Decals? If not they look to be perfect. All three models look to be superb.
follasha
Thanks, The decals are actually all my own 😉. Takes LOTS of mucking around with photoshop to get those window aperture’s to line up with the model 🤪
janneman36
Personally I don’t like the big windows that you see on certain DC-3’s but you did a pretty fine job in getting this right! Looks like the real thing 👍👍👍 Great modelling.. cheers, Jan

Zephyr
Lovely work on the model, and a classic DC-3 colour scheme. The NAC Freightair DC-3 in the background is beautiful too.
Vince1159
Gorgeous looking DC-3,love the third photo with the reflection of the fuselage on the wing...
billn53
Very nice! I have a similar project in mind (converting Airfix’s C-47 to the passenger-carrying DC-3). I take it, you don’t have a WIP to show?
SteveMc
A terrific job on the DC3(s). I have built two of Airfix’s recent Dakotas and although they turned out OK I had some serious fit issues especially with the MkIV.

Jonners
Love it - can't beat a civilian DC-3 / C-47. Really nice job. The decals are very nicely done and the three models together look superb. Jon
Kiwidave4
Very nice. You are building up a fleet! As a young apprentice lad I worked on some of the Skyliner conversions. The end result was quite something in the day, especially the re-modelled interior which made it look more like an airliner and less like a railway carriage.

kapam
As one who prefers the more colorful civil DC-3's to their military C-47 cousins, I must say they're superb! I have an Italeri and an Airfix in my stash and I would love them to look something like this when done. Would love to know more about this home-made decal thing too. Lovely builds! 👏👏👏👏
