+1 for TSR2.

But top of my list is the Dunne monoplane.

Then maybe the R100 airship and the Fairey Delta 2, to round off the "one" listed by the OP. ;-)

Harrier... :weep:

GR.3 or Gr.9 if I had the choice, but beggars can't be choosers, eh?

Gr.3 definitely!

It was the first type of Harrier I ever saw in real life, I was about ten years old and absolutely floored by the demonstration. To have that feeling again would be priceless.

Martin-Baker MB-5........Could have been the ultimate piston engine fighter.................

There is a replica being built in the U.S so I may see one yet

Smudge

That looks like CGI!

Weird picture.

TSR2.

But not limiting myself to purely british/commonwealth aircraft;

B-36 Peacemaker,

B-58 Hustler,

F-14 Tomcat (I know technically Iran has them in service but I seriously doubt they still fly),

F-4 Phantom (Spey engined of course),

Halifax, because they already have one built so why not push it the extra mile!

and the Mosquito, sounds lovely as I remember it.

For me, it would be DH Hornet, Mosquito B IV and FBVI and to see and hear a Mirage IVP.

First one that really came to mind was Spiteful. Plenty of others, of course. Of course, if time machines would be permitted, I'd like to be at Eastleigh on 5 March 1936... and then come back a few months later to get a paint sample!

bob

p.s. Interesting how many (relatively) of peoples' choices I actually HAVE seen fly, and I'm a Yank!

Shackleton for me..

You may well get your wish, the one in Coventry is heading that way. I shoved a few bob in the bucket at Waddington to help it so very slightly on its way.

My list would be Shackleton, Harrier, HP42 (I'd settle for a static!), Stirling and a little left field here -one of the giant airships, R101 or R34.
