  1. Looking very smart in spite of the issues you experienced with the decals. 👍
  2. I have found a that a coat or two of Microscale Liquid Decal Film is a definite help with older, more fragile decals, The Max Decals I have used in the past have benefitted from a coat but even with the liquid decal film they still require careful handling when being used.
  3. A quick internet search gave a number of hits: https://www.jadarhobby.pl/italeri-2783-148-tornado-gr1ids-p-55849.html https://www.kingkit.co.uk/shop.php?search=kitfinder&search_term=tornado&brand=&cat=&scale=1^48 https://www.dominomodel.com/en/p/22816/tornado-gr1-ids-gulf-war/ Hope that helps on your quest.
  4. Also mentioned on Scalemates that the Zvezda 1/144 Boeing 757 is due for release by Revell in 2022 with Iron Maiden decals. I wonder if they are going to give makings for G-0JIB for the 2008 tour or G-STRX for the 2011 tour(or maybe both???, please Mr.Revell) https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-03826-boeing-757-200-iron-maiden--1383981
  5. I am using the one from the Sea Harrier FA2 conversion for the ESCI/Italeri kit that I picked up years ago. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/whirlybits-wba-72017-sea-harrier-fa2-conversion-kit--187380
  6. Hannants/Xtracolor have a MIG29 Grey(X612) You can see the shade here ->https://www.aero-spezial-modellbauversand.de/Paints/Xtracolor/X612-MiG-29-Grau-14ml::3218.html?language=en
  7. I'm currently working on the same thing myself, 1/72 Matchbox cockpit section & canopy, Airfix fuselage/wings/tail & resin nose from a Sea Harrier FA2 conversion set. Planning to add RWR and wing tip launch rails like the T2. Thinking of a 'what-if' RAuxAF scheme
  8. Thank you, IIRC I used Vallejo Model Air Orange(71.083) as a base with a coat of Mr.Color Fluorescent Red(C171) on top to give it a bit of vibrancy.
  9. I am using Mr.Color C309 FS34079 on my IAC Warrior or Mr.Hobby Aqueous H309 would be an alternative.
  10. I have never had occasion to brush it on but it is pretty foolproof for airbrushing. I would suggest to try it out on a test subject before you commit it to your latest masterpiece and to go with light, thin coats.
  11. As above, I have had no problem using W&N Galeria Matt & Satin varnish over a number of paint types including enamels, Humbrol amongst them, but I make sure that they are well cured before doing so. Also I ensure the W&N get at least 24 hours to cure before going near it.
  12. According to Max Decals IAC update 2004 set(MAX7216) the overall blue is FS15177(Xtracolor PRU Blue being reasonable match) note that the cheatlines are included as a decal on the sheet if you can find a copy.
  13. Very nice What-if IAC Hornet Ken
  14. I am not familiar with them, Very Fire appear to do a lot of ship/naval subjects so your question may get a more knowledgeable reply if posted in the Maritime Modelling area.
  15. Yes please, I would be interested in seeing any pics of IAC machines.
  16. The Airfix/Motorhead He-111 tribute was release in two boxings, the initial one(https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-a07007a-heinkel-he111-h-6--1239911) included the base kit(A07007) markings as well as the Motorhead scheme. The second release of the tribute kit(https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-a07007b-heinkel-he111-h-6-motoerhead-bomber-special--1241168) only contained the Motohead markings. HTH
  17. The Irish Air Corps operated the Hurricane post war, the Mk.I being retired in 1946 and the Mk.IIc serving until late 1947 when they were replaced by the Seafire.
  18. Another option is the Zvezda kit(same plastic as the current Revell 109F 1/72 kit) https://www.scalemates.com/kits/zvezda-7302-messerschmitt-bf-109-f-2--147849
  19. I don't ever remember the ESCI 1/72 Phantoms ever having pilots, at least not the RAF Phantom/F-4s(kit #9045) or the F-4C/J(kit #9031) kits that I built back in the day. I do remember Fujimi 1/72 F-14 and A-6 kits having some excellent pilot figures as well as the Monagram F-105 kit.

  21. I don't know if humbrol 28 is of accurate for the JP scheme but I have used Humbrol enamels 165 Medium Sea Grey & 167 Barley Grey(aka camouflage grey?), both available in the humbrol acrylic range. #28 is closer to Light Aircraft Grey #166
  22. Happy to be able to help. 👍
  23. Have a look at Hannants, they appear to have something that may fit the bill. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/X72065?result-token=OTepw
  24. Have you tried sun bleaching the decals? I place the offending decals into a clear ziploc bag and taped them to the inside of a south facing window for a few days and the sun should reduce the yellowing. HTH

    Which glue?

I use a number of glues for building models, for main assembly Tamiya Extra Thin cement (TET) is quite popular, available able from most good model outlets. Also I use old fashion tube poly cement and Tamiya cement for basic construction as well as super glue for various detailed parts and PE(not suitable for clear parts) and PVA for clear parts. HTH
