Ivan (Morgys)
Hi everyone! Today I want to present you my new build of a new model from ICM. This kit went on sale about a month ago and I decided to make it immediately. Model is very nice , especially considering it`s price, although it have some drawbacks ofcourse. Realy weak point are decals, it was difficult to give them a decent look. As usial - some parts in cockpit and engine were added and modified, rivets are made, and some exterior parts are added too. Machine guns - Vector resin parts. Some photos of build proces are incuded. The kit is painted as a plane from 3/Aufklärungsgruppe Ob.d.L, Ukraine, August 1941.
Caerbannog
wow - very nice build - and amazingly fast. I am awfully slow at building and very impressed by all who show a speed such as you. Rene

Fuad
Good for you, Vanya. Model only came out, and you've already asked a very high standard of performance. You squeezed all out from it.
Ivan (Morgys)
Thanks for all the feedback! Actually I did not make model for all 24 days. Most often I was able to allocate to it a couple of hours a day. It`s realy not so difficult to build a model fast when you have a desire.

Alan Kelley
Great job. I remember fondly building the Airfix 72 version when I was a kid- think I built quite a few of them, if my memory serves me correctly.
Troy Smith
very neat work Ivan Does the kit come with exposed engines, that you detailed, or was the whole engine added by you? Any comments on the build of the kit, any problems areas apart from the decals? cheers Troy
trickyrich
very nicely done, you should be very proud of it!!! Did you have to add much extra detailing yourself?

Ivan (Morgys)
Thanks for all the feedback! Troy , kit come with engines, I only added some details. (Detailing the model can be viewed at ICM website - http://www.icm.com.ua/news/347-do-215b-4wwii-german-reconnaissance-plane.html) Model sets not very good. Parts of the fuselage and wings are not hard enough and bend. This is especially noticeable on wings, which purchase incorect aerofoil. I had to insert a spacer made of toothpicks to fix it. Engine cowlings look very simple and require improvements more than other parts of kit. Empennage is done not quite right, but I did not fix it. Now the new Vector correction set appeared and it can be used to easy fix the empennage. trickyrich, yes, as you can see all the extra detailing made from plastic tubes, foil and wire.
