  1. Thanks for all the feedback! Troy , kit come with engines, I only added some details. (Detailing the model can be viewed at ICM website - http://www.icm.com.ua/news/347-do-215b-4wwii-german-reconnaissance-plane.html) Model sets not very good. Parts of the fuselage and wings are not hard enough and bend. This is especially noticeable on wings, which purchase incorect aerofoil. I had to insert a spacer made of toothpicks to fix it. Engine cowlings look very simple and require improvements more than other parts of kit. Empennage is done not quite right, but I did not fix it. Now the new V
  2. Thanks for all the feedback! Actually I did not make model for all 24 days. Most often I was able to allocate to it a couple of hours a day. It`s realy not so difficult to build a model fast when you have a desire.
  3. Hi everyone! Today I want to present you my new build of a new model from ICM. This kit went on sale about a month ago and I decided to make it immediately. Model is very nice , especially considering it`s price, although it have some drawbacks ofcourse. Realy weak point are decals, it was difficult to give them a decent look. As usial - some parts in cockpit and engine were added and modified, rivets are made, and some exterior parts are added too. Machine guns - Vector resin parts. Some photos of build proces are incuded. The kit is painted as a plane from 3/Aufklärungsgruppe Ob.d.L,
  4. Hi everybody! Now I want to show you this nice plane. This is my favorite model of the soviet aircraft that I built this winter. The resin kit is very easy to assemble. I only added some handmade parts and found some decals. The only difficulty was paintscheme that require hard work with masks. As usual - a couple of pictures of the process.
  5. Thanks for all the feedback! Troy I based on photos from technical description that you can find here - http://scalemodels.ru/modules/forum/viewtopic_t_30546.html A lot of information about I-185 interior and exterior. Paint - mix of Tamiya colours. I tried to depict the difference in shade panels of metal and plywood. Maybe it's not quite right, but it made the model more presentable and colorful.
  6. Hello, it`s me again. Another soviet aircraft, another new model from russian manufacture. The I-185 is the fourth kit from ARK models. The others were Hurricane and two I-16. All other ARK kits are repacks of FROG, old ICM and so on. The kit looks like old Matchbox kits with poor detailing and wide inside panel lines. I added some parts in cockpit, wheel bays, installed engine, made a landing light, opened canopy, scribed some panel lines and added the rivets. The model is painted like a plane from combat testing in 728 fighter squadron, December 1942.
  7. Thanks for all the feedback! IPMS19 (sorry, I don`t know your name), I saw your model, and it is very nice. I too had problems with turret - it was impossible to make it closed. But it is my mistake because I saw many models with closed turret. About under fuselage defensive position - I took information from this photos and schemes. MarekIt will be interestin to see the result. I can give you some information about SU-2 that migth be useful to build this kit. GraemeSu-2 looks similar with many WWII light bombers. For example like slim Avenger
  8. Hi everyone! I want to present you several new models of soviet aircraft. First will be the new "Zvezda" kit - Su-2 bomber. It`s a nice kit, but it needs some work on the mistakes. Also i use Vector resin conversion sets and make M-88B modification and wheels from ZIP. I do not dwell on assembly process, but you can see it on some photos. Some parts in cockpit and wheel bays were added and modified. I made the lower turret, scribed some new panel lines and so on. As a prototype I chose an airplane from the 288 bomd sqadron, which was depicted on the newsreels in winter of 1941-1942. That p
  9. George, thanks for the answer! You are a bit mistaken. A mod is quite different from B. The most notable differences are in the shape of the nose cone and wings wheel bays. B mod on the fairing is long, and the landing gear doors are closed on, unlike open-nish on A mod. In addition the B modes have very visible anti-icing panels on wings and stabilizers. Here's a photo of my models P-61. Above P-61B (still in the process), the P-61A below. The differences are rather conspicuous. Mod B can be collected from the model GWH, replacing radar part of a set of monogram (there are two parts,
  10. Excellent work! One of the best models of the P-61, displayed in the net. I really like painting in black colour and believe that such kind of painting in several tones is ideal for the model in dark colours. I wanted to paint my model P-61 in the same way, but you've done it before so I have an exampler. Let me ask one question about the model: all sources indicate that the P-61 "Night take off" №239525 was a modification "B", but your model is "A" mod. Do you have some sort of new information about it or you just wanted to make a model with such decals? I would like to know the answer, bec
  11. Hello everyone! I want to show you a series of models of the Italian aircraft. I'll start with this model of attack aircraft. It was built in the summer of 2011. A set of Special Hobby is pretty good, although it`s necessary to apply the putty and finalize some details. I modified the engine, machine guns, altered sight in the cockpit, added a few panels of foil and navigation lights. Painted with acrylic from Vallejo and Akan. Some photos of the build process. Coloring a plane from the 129th assault squadron. Tobruk, in November 1940. I hope the model will be of in
  12. Thanks for all the feedback! seadog When I was building this model I also ran into problems with installing canopy and I used to put a lot of putty to fit it. BushBrit66 First there was no drop tanks. I instaled them after a small repair of the model. As for me with them P-61 looks better. David Now I am building another model P-61 from the Monogram and i use a complete set of add-ons from the Vector on it. I plan to open topic about building in " Work in Progress" in the near future. Thanks for the advice with wheels. I agree, they look as if air came out of them.
  13. Hi all, I want to continue a series of models of American aircraft of World War II that I post on this site. This time it will be A-20G “Havoc” from Italery. This model was made in the spring of 2012. I used a set of machine guns and engines from Vector, decals from Zot `s, a set of wheels from True details, photo-etched from Eduard and Airwaves. Model is going pretty bad, I had to put spacers in the fuselage and wings, and all the joints had to be covered with putty. In addition I want to draw attention to a set of photo-etched Eduard 48127. If not to cut parts details 5/11 and 9/10 it will
  14. Thank you all for your feedbacks. Maybe I'll open topic process of building P-61B in Work In Progress. Concerning the turret on Moonhappy - to my mind the turret was installed, as it was on the aircraft with the numbers 25526 and 25528. On all the photos of Moonhappy the place of turret installation is not visible.Byt may be I lack all available information. If you have such information - please share with me. I`ll intoduce changes and show photos.
  15. I welcome all on this site! Seriously I began to get involved in modeling since 2009 and during that time have built about 80 models in the 48th and 72nd scale. The most interesting and high-quality (in my opinion), I want to show you. I hope it will be interesting. The first thing I want to show you a model P-61 in 48th scale from Monogram. After all - P-61 is my favorite plane, and this model - one of the most difficult that I've gathered. The model was built with the use of set of motors and propellers hoods and trunks from Vector, gun barrels from Quickboost and wheels from True details. I
