A Landing Craft Mechanized Mk.3 from the Normandy Beaches

It served with honour and now passes its days in a creek somewhere on the Helford River

Very nice Kev. I think quite a few naval craft ended up like that after the war. As a kid, I remember seeing, what I believe was an MGB beached up the Creek in Leigh-on-Sea. I think that there were others, converted into houseboats.

I saw the title and though 'what can you have done with that ancient, mouldy old kit'? Well I didn't expect to be this impressed. Superb idea, brilliantly executed.

Superbly executed (that's rust ticked off the must -dos) and poignant in a way that we've come to expect from the Masterof Lyrical modeliing :clap2:

& here was I going to comment on the mess hermit crabs leave behind them. ;) Birds eh? You could be right. :)

I like that Kev. The lone bystander looks to me like a old chap thinking, "I remember these things, it were a long time ago now" He'd have a lump in his throat & perhaps a tear in his eye.

We remembered them.

Just stunning Kev, like you said it was going to be 'a bit of fun'  and well it certainly has been not just for you but to a beginner like me just marvelling at your idea, technique and diorama.  As always your timing is impeccable and a fitting tribute to all involved in such a gruesome struggle.  Brilliant final touch, is that you with the stick? 🤭
