Hawker Typhoon 1, PR-R,serial unknown but in MN range, 609 Squadron, RAF Thorney Island, West Sussex, June 6th 1944. Used on operations against enemy MT in the Lisieux region of Normandy.

BREN GUN kit, Decals from spares and generic stock, no afternarket items used.
References: Warpaint Hawker Typhoon, 2nd Tactical Air Force by Chris Thomas and Chris Shores all four Volumes!, Ducimus Camouflage and Markings, RAF, Bound volume edition.

Decals are a mix of those supplied with the kit and Archer. Painted with Tamiya and Vallejo paints.

Here we have Revell's 1/32 Grumman F4F-4/MARTLET MkV presented as a FAA Martlet.


Kit manufacture: Revell

Scale: 1/32

Type: Grumman F4F-4/MARTLET MkV

Extras used: OOB plus EZ-Line

Paints and colours used: Tamiya Acrylics, Vallejo model air.

Weathering: Flory models dark dirt wash and tamiya weathering sets.

Here we have Academy's 1/48 Republic P-47D Thunderbolt.




This build I concentrated on new skills around weathering and bleaching the main colours, came out quite subtle, but I'm happy with the results.

P-51 Mustang III

flown by P/O James Neal Thorne DFC

122 squadron, July 1944

Airstrip B12 Normandy

With this Aircraft (FB 180) he shot down 2 Fw-190's and damaged 1 Fw-190 during a dog Fight on the 26th of July 1944.

After the fight he made a crash landing with this aircraft on a landing strip and FB 180 was stroke of charge.
