  1. Hello Everyone, Finally getting some work done on this build. I've painted the lower hull in Humbrol Brick Red (colour code 70) and waiting for that to dry before I begin assembling the hull together so I can do the boot topping as well as putting all of the upper deck components. Photos of the progress soon.
  2. Thanks, this was one of the first models that involved lots of canopy glass. I've got masking tape now and use it on my kits most of the time even though I haven't been building models again for a long time.
  3. That's all my finished build posts for the moment.

I have a few kits which are requiring a bit of repair before I can make posts of them : Airfix Severn class lifeboat, AMT Ghostbusters Ecto 1A car, AMT USS Reliant NCC-1984, Revell UH-1 helicopter and Revell USS Reagan CVN-76 Aircraft carrier.

I will get photos of them and posts made as soon as I can.

  4. Hello Everyone, Here is my last finished kit post for the moment. This is an Airfix 1/72 Royal Air Force Hawk in a Charity scheme. I cannot remember which charity this kit was depicting. I built this Hawk as inflight with the landing gear retracted because I wanted to get a display stand for it, but cannot find one. I contacted Airfix to get the stand components from more modern Hawk kits which mount in the exhausts but the price seemed quite expensive for them and I said no to them. Here are the photos. All the best, Rick
  5. This one has my name all over it as I have a Shannon class boat at Selsey near my home and I have a Severn class lifeboat in my completed stash (needs some repairs before I can post some photos).
  6. Thanks. Originally, yes I did but it became a bit more of an issue when it reacted with the primer I used on the kit even though it was a Tamiya primer and didn't look great. When I built the 2nd version of this kit to avoid decal issues, I used a Revell dark blue acrylic paint which I hand painted onto it. I still have the original kit in my storage tub for spare components which I'm going to finish eventually. Thanks again, Rick.
  7. Evening everyone, I'm nearly finished with posting all of my previous builds now, but here is another one. This is an Airfix Eurofighter Typhoon. Here are the photos. All the best, Rick
  8. Hello Everyone, Here is my build of the Airfix 1/72 Red Tails P-51 Mustang aircraft Lollipoop. This was a very fun little build, hand painted with Humbrol acrylic paints. Here are the photos. All the best, Rick
  9. Hello Everyone, Here is my build of the Revell SR-71 Blackbird kit. The Blackbird was the fastest air breathing aircraft in the world, capable of Mach 3. It was a very simple build and paint job. Hand painted with Revell paints. Here are the photos. All the best, Rick
  10. Hello Everyone, As I am a massive Trekkie, I even like the Kelvin Timeline movies (Star Trek 2009, Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond) and knew when the model of the USS Enterprise from the films became available that I would end up building one. This is the Revell 1/600 scale kit of the USS Enterprise and she is one of the biggest starships I've built. While the design of the ship is still slightly strange and isn't one of my favourites, the kit is a very nice one. Here are the photos : All the best, Rick
  11. Thanks very much. Nice, the Trafalgar class are very nice looking boats. I prefer their looks to the Astute class. I regularly go to Portsmouth and like to try and be there when interesting ships come in or out of the harbour. I actually saw a US Navy Los Angeles class submarine in the harbour years ago.
  12. Evening all, This is one of my all time favourite Star Trek ships....the Constitution class refit starship USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A. The Constitution class refit was first revealed in Star Trek The Motion Picture and has always one of my favourite starship designs. This kit is the original AMT kit from the 1990s when Star Trek VI The Undiscovered Country was released and went together fantastically except for a minor issue with the warp nacelle pylons which was resolved with an application of a much stronger glue. The only thing missing on this kit is the main registry decal (NCC-1701-A) on the upper saucer section surface. I can fix that as I have a spare set of decals for this kit. I'm not sure if this ship is painted the correct colour for the hull or whether I should give her a repaint by removing the decals and then repaint her before redecaling the ship. What do you think ? Anyway here are the photos (the display stand needs a coat of paint as it is an off white at the moment). All the best, Rick
  13. Hello Everyone, Here is yet another couple of simple builds that I've done over the years. These are the Vostok 1 booster and capsule which took Yuri Gagarin into orbit for the 1st time and the Soyuz booster along with a Soyuz capsule similar to the one which took British astronaut Tim Peake to the International Space Station. Here are the photos : Vostok 1: Soyuz : Soyuz & Vostok : Soyuz, Vostok 1 and Space Shuttle Enterprise : I would love to build the Apollo program's Saturn V Booster and the Artemis 1 Space Launch System (SLS) booster as well, but they are big rockets. All the best, Rick
  14. Evening All, Here are some new photos of my space shuttle stack which I took with all of the other kits I've built in the past.
  15. Hello Everyone, This is another of my previous builds and it is one of my favourite subjects i.e. Real Space....in this case it is a Revell Space Shuttle Orbiter kit built as Discovery OV-103. Discovery was the orbiter which carried out both Return to Flight missions after the Challenger and Columbia disasters in 1986 and 2003. This kit was again hand-painted with Revell acrylic paints like several of my other builds. Here are the photos. With my Academy 1/288 Space Shuttle Enterprise stack and a great book about the 1st space shuttle launch I would have loved to have built the larger space shuttle stack, but it is massive and would not fit easily in my home office/man cave. All the best, Rick
