HL-10
This is the AMP kit of the Supermarine S6-B. I built the Airfix kit a long, long time ago! The memories of the struggle with the floats and struts were fresh however! Luckily there were no similar issues here! But it is not a "shake & bake kit", not too bad though, with good fit and lovely surface detail. The kit supplies etched bracing wires, but they deformed easily and were hard to straighten so I opted to use EZ Line instead. I also added some seat belts in that teeny tiny cockpit. They also provide a laser cut wooden jig/display base. The model was painted with Tamiya acrylics & lacquers. Thanks for looking Angelo 69

dnl42
Nice work on that. Also beats the old Hawk kit by a wide margin. 1
bentwaters81tfw
Very smart, I did the Hawk issue a few years back. Is this a tribute to both aircraft? - I see you have used both serials.

That's what happens when you model late into the night and refuse to quit until you've finished!😂

John_W
Gorgeous. The S6B is one of those aircraft that looks fast even standing still.

I have seen it recommended but when I looked at my paint chip it looked much to dark. I like how it look on your model so I will test that colour.
pemodeller
Hi HL-10, Your build is really nice. I have this kit but in 1/72 scale from Novo and I was going to ask what is the make of the blue that you have used. Just saw your reply to Bjorn that it is Tamiya X4. Will have to find the Mr Colour equivalent of Tamiya X4. Thanks for sharing your build
bryanm
Wow - brilliant! It brings back memories of when the S6A was displayed on the ferry pier at Southampton before it was moved the Solent Sky museum.
