  1. Don't get that Richard Stilgoe on the case, He'll throw everything in the canal...
  2. The Conversion was originally made by Alley Cat and all their stuff is excellent quality and great value. My Mark 8 was a conversion from the Dynavector Mk9 kit and all of the alterations were by me as this was a while before the Airfix kit and Alley Cat conversion were around.
  3. A great day out and many thanks to all of the organisers and exhibitors.
  4. We are at the show too, weather has turned out fine, we are all having a grast time including my 89 Y.O. mother in law. Her first visit to an Aircraft Museum and her first Model Show.
  5. -2N is the nightfighter, -2B is the nuclear weapon carriage capable aircraft. See Tailhook Topics.
  6. I'll HAVE to get one as it includes Australian markings (That's my excuse). I think that Airfix might be testing the waters with this release to see if the Era has sufficient interest for mdellers at the moment. They have also intimated that there will be other surprise releases during the year so I think that it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that despite the differences of scale a 1/24th scale subject like a Gauntlet, or more realistically a Gladiator might appear.
  7. And if the Bulldog is succesful, then perhaps they will produce a new-tool Fury without any of the errors of the two previous kits.
  8. We will be taking Fionas mother with us as she would like to see the bintage csrs and horse drawn vehicles. Admittedly, she will be well wrapped in a wheelchsir and will sally forth by intervals to view the collection but xhe is 89 years of age.
  9. For us, the show being at this time of year is actually a good thing as we can see the collection without having to contend with the hordes of visitors who attend events in the summer, weekday visits not really being an option because of travel considerstions.
  10. We are from Northamptonsjire orihinally and have family living near Northampton and Bedford.
  11. I will pencil this one in though it maybe one week the wrong side of payday. We shall make every endeavour to be thete as we enjoyed ourselve last year and living on the mid Wales voast are not readily put off by a bit of cold.
  12. and the other one is Alexis Kanner who will be familiar from the last two episodes of The Prisoner.
  13. Glad you've got it across the finish line. its a good choice of colour scheme.
  14. Wishing you all the best of luck Richie. Lots of folk these days are in your position and hopefully the diet and excercise changes will keep you the right side of things.
  15. I can only think that SpecialHobby has persisted with this release hoping that it will do well in those parts of the world where, due to issues of distribution, the Airfix kit will be at a price or availability disadvantage.
  16. Looking excellent and really like seeing the Eohippus too, who is the one ray of light in a spectacular but deeply sad film.
  17. Excellent model. I saw the Grasshoppers at one of the Mildenhall airshows back in the 1980's and was so impressed. they really got me i started on taking an interest in Helicopters as modelling subjects.
  18. I bought some .5mm (.020") from amazon sold as "OLYCRAFT 20 Sheets Clear Plexiglass Sheet 0.05mm Panel Rectangle Perspex Transparent Acrylic Board PMMA Silce Moisture-proof Plastic Board - 12.7 x 17.7cm" but it actually is styrene. for 1mm clear styrene I use CD Crystal Cases.
  19. I have seen their stuff at shows and was so impressed. I already have some armour in 1/35th scale and 1/48th but seeing how large a range that Rubicon do, and how good the quality is I am constantly tempted but their stuff. If you are looking to do Diorama work but don't want to go down to 1/76th as a a scale and find that 1/35th woul;d be just too big, then I think that Rubicons vehicles and figures really are the thing to go for.
  20. Was a great morning out for us, very enjoyable and many thanks to the team.
  21. I have experimented with nail acrylic monomer liquid with acrylic powder filler/initiator for filling on cars as it does not shrink at all. This is for a similar job as yours but converting a 2 door Plymouth GTX body to a 4 door Sattelite. So far I have found that Nail acrylic is reasonably soft for sanding in the first few hours but does harden more with time, so it is best to apply sparingly and as precisely as you can and get to work on the sanding withing a couple of hours. The finish however, is superb and doesn't give any of those transition lines between filler and base polystyrene. I was inspired by Paul Budziks use of dental acrylic systems for filling, but not being a dentist c neither have access to them as materials, or the budget to buy them even if I did.
  22. Looks great, a very bold move to go with the silver finish and it works out so well.
  23. Will quite likely be going if I haven't been to Sywell the week before.
