TimT64
A couple of Airfix Chipmunks, 1-72 & 1-48. I flew in one of these as an air cadet in the late 70's, It was at RAF Newton, unfortunately my logbook is long gone so don't know which one it was, so I went for a couple of different Newton markings The 1-72nd was painted and decaled as per the Airfix instructions. The 1-48th was painted and decaled using Hanants Xtradecals Painted using MRP paints
Bandsaw Steve
Good looking pair of Chipmunks. Proper markings too! None of this modern overall black nonsense. 👍 4

RichieW
Lovely, it works really well having the different scales displayed on the same base too. Richie
TallBlondJohn
Proper job - I've got the same project in mind for the Abingdon Chipmunk I flew circa 1985. It'll be the only plane in my collection with a pilot.

cpoud117
Nice pair of Chipmunks! With modelling seen through carefully cropped photos, it's easy to forget how larger 1/48 is compared to 1/72 😮
georgeusa
Great pairing of two different scales of Chipmunks. The display looks wonderful as is the finish of each. Thanks for sharing.
jhutchi
They look great. I got excited for a second there thinking you'd modelled my first AEF Chipmunk but mine was 872 not 877
Paul J
Nice pairing1. However, it might pay to very carefully file off the vertical frame lines on the canopy of the 1/72 model. They are fiction, especially the front one. Your 48th model shows how it should be.On the whole though, very nice builds.
Lewis95
Looks great. I built the 72nd awhile ago and elected for the bubble top canopy for some reason at the time. Recently cracked open the 1/48th kit that sat in the stash since it arrived only to find an ejection in replacing part of the tubework on the engine but this is great inspiration for when I get the spare (and the Vampire off the bench!)

petetasker
Lovely builds. I think the 48th Airfix kit is just one of the nicest kits around.
MilneBay
Those are lovely models. Many years ago, back in 60s I took flying lessons. I was learning in a Victa Airtourer and I remember one day taxying out behind a Chipmunk. It made the Victa I was in look like a midget.
Rod Blievers
They're beautifully done models. One small point though; the upper glazing over the front seat is quite small so while you've modelled this as two panels the aft "panel" is actually solid, it's a hinged panel to assist with opening the canopy in flight. Hopefully the link below shows this: https://flic.kr/p/2oYmQjF Edited August 28, 2023 by Rod Blievers
Watto
Fantastic renditions of an iconic aircraft, beautifully painted and presented. Congratulations on a couple of really nice builds. 10\10 Watto 👍
