My deepest sympathies, Pete, these little creatures are such an important aspect of our lives. RIP Frranko, bless you, old fella.

Pete, that was heartbreaking to read - I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope the time comes soon where memories of him bring more smiles than sorrow.

Would a clone cat be a viable healthy creature in its own right I wonder?

She'd perhaps be better using the money to say, give good homes to some unfortunate cats that really need one, or something along those lines .....

Hi

  cheers

Sorry to hear of your loss Pete: like others here I‘ve been there too, three times so far.  The most recent, Sooty, four months short of his 18th birthday, was paradoxically the hardest.  Treasure your memories of Franko in the good times and be happy that you did the best for him m and that you gave him a safe and loving home.  8 months after Sooty’s passing we took on two 2-month old ex-pub kittens; they’re not replacements for our previous trio but they’re good company just the same.  Maybe you’ll find a new friend to care for (or be servant to) but that’s for you to decide, just take your time.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a cardboard one either....

- Dad, I don't want to be photographed, I want to play.

- This is a photo for a British website. Sit down nicely like me and make a smart face.

You buy your cat an expensive bed and when it gets delivered, you open the box and put it out for the rascal and she/he immediatly jumps in the box it arrived in and takes a nap.

Only three? You got a bargain! I remember A Certain Ginger Gentleman demanded food any and every time I went anywhere near the kitchen!

We still have one of them (or he still has two of us to feed him on demand! 🤣)

I had planned to subvert this feline thread with a canine tale as to how earlier this evening our dog stole the printed photo etch instructions to my Revell Tirpitz and bit a comically shaped hole before being bribed to give it back with a Sainsbury's dental chew cunningly placed on the kitchen bin.

Unfortunately the cat used it's telepathic powers to ascertain this plan and in a bid to remain the centre of attention carried out a tactical vomit over the document which was drying out on the work surface in the utility room cum man cave.

Anyone else modeling from instructions still damp with poodle drool and stained yellow from cat sick tomorrow or am I in a unique position ? I never wanted either of them....

Tbh the dogs throw up far more often than the cats, who seldom do.. Luckily never on instructions (not that I read em much anyway)

The snag with moggies, one in particular, is the whole sport of sitting on the table watching me, then waiting for the opportunity to knock small (and vital) kit parts on the floor when I'm not looking...
