John Thompson Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 What's the FS595 number for that mauve? But surreally, folks, the box art alone has me almost persuaded to buy, even though this subject is miles outside my field of interest. John

John Thompson Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 That's a surprise - I was only joking! I thought it was a custom paint mix chosen by Peter Twiss' wife... 😄 John 1 1

Rabbit Leader Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 This does look nice. My initial suspicions on the completed model is that the white surround to the roundels should only be applied if doing the blue scheme, where the NMF and Mauve examples are standard type ‘D’ roundels with no thin white surround. I’m not sure if these are supplied on the decal sheet or just easily sourced elsewhere. Can someone confirm this? If that’s the only tiny blemish, it’s hardly worth mentioning, but just included here for further discussion and accuracy’s sake. Cheers.. Dave 1
Work In Progress Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 The photos of the test build on FB show it wearing incorrect white-edged roundels. But I'm not bothered, I have stacks of D type roundels, and a few spare white-edges ones will come in handy one day 2

Dave Yes, indeed, we made a mistake.😞 For the silver version there is not enough roundels without a white border... 🙄 5

Cheers and congratulations on what appears to be a beautiful model.. Dave 2

Dave Fleming Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 (edited) Mine arrived yesterday from Jadlam. It’s lovely. Only comments are (a) no camera pod for the fin tip (easy add and optional) and (b) the orange (dayglo) markings for WG774 are given as yellow. Edited February 7, 2024 by Dave Fleming

Got mine yesterday as well, +1 on the above comments, plus the interior/ 1:144 scale ejection seat which bears a passing resemblance to a MB MK3 - probably fine if you close the canopy as you won't see much through those tiny windows anyway, but a bit disappointing if you want to model the canopy open.

Dave Fleming Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 it can vary between photos e.g. 47 minutes ago, Work In Progress said: They look pretty yellow here
71chally Posted February 7, 2024 Posted February 7, 2024 I wonder if it started out as dayglow orange that faded to yellow. 1
