Homebee Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) Dora Wings is to release a 1/72nd Fairey Delta FD.2 kit - ref. 72009 Source: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=2106721216225111&id=1929101897320378 V.P. Edited December 15, 2023 by Homebee 13
Mr T Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) Some very good choices for British orientated modellers. The Wallace should be a better alternative to the old Frog kit, will go in my 504 Squadron theme collection. Now has anyone got any decent shots of 504 Squadron Meteor F.4s? robvulcan Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) Fantastic news. Still waiting to build my Novo one but will have to have a crack at this too. Edited January 30, 2018 by robvulcan
Trenton guy Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 PLEASE, the “world absolute speed record holder” markings, the purplish one. 9
stevehnz Posted January 30, 2018 Posted January 30, 2018 Excellent, I've never managed to find a Frog or Frogspawn one so this is a must for me. Steve. 3
Whirly Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Great news! I have two NOVO kits halfway but I welcome a modern kit with decals, there are so many variations for this subject.
dora Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Hello everybody. Now I'm starting work on the project. There are many different aircraft projections and photographs that I made in Cosford. But also there are a lot of questions. For example - the correct sections of the fuselage with dimensions -what does fixing the nose and fuselage look like - thickness of wings and keel. And so on... Maybe someone has more information? I will be glad to any help. Thank you. 4
bentwaters81tfw Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 You may get some answers here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SONACA I recall when Concorde was being built, they had to go to them (as Avions Fairey) for the permission to use the 'droop snoot' as it came from the FD2. All the FD2 data went to Avions Fairey. 1

Hi Eugen, I think this is the book you need, which contains very good drawings: https://stellabooks.com/books/barrie-hygate/british-experimental-jet-aircraft/1608969 2 1

charlie_c67 Posted April 8, 2018 Posted April 8, 2018 Will you only be doing the original FD.2, or will you also be doing a version where she was the flight tester for the Concorde ogee delta wing?
Whirly Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Any news on this project? It has been very quiet...
dora Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Work is progressing slowly. Unfortunately, little information.
Rabbit Leader Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Just noticed this announcement early morning (my time) and have now realised it’s an old and delayed thread. Hopefully it will gather some more momentum in 2019 as the modelling world really needs more exotic test aircraft. Cheers.. Dave 1
dalea Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 It's OK, Dora. Just keep the Proctors and P-63s coming. Waiting for a Fairey FD-2 is soul strengthening. Have been doing it for years. 2

I am sure several Britmodellers will have photos of the one at Cosford that might be if help. I think I may have some if that would help. 1
dora Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Thank you, I have enough photos from Cosford. I myself took a lot of pictures in the museum. Not enough drawings with a cross section of the fuselage. Basically you have to build a 3D model from photographs, which slows down the process. 1
dora Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 We finally returned to work on a project that was started a long time ago. Yes, this moment the 3D model looks like this. Your opinion..? 12 3
