MODeller Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hi All, Thanks to the generosity of GlennR I have finally been able to make A T7! The nose section is from the Echelon kit and has been welded to a Revell FGA9 fuselage, not too difficult if carefully planned. The current Fisher conversion looks fantastic and would be an easier option if you are prepared to pay the price, I am not for a model which will only come out of the loft a couple of times a year. Painted in Revell Aqua and Xtracrylics, decals a mixture of kit and homemade. The actual aircraft served at RAE Bedford for many years. This model should be on the Wallingford Club table at Shuttleworth on Sunday. As usual all comments welcome, MODeller
Work In Progress Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) It's big, it's beautiful, it's British, it's rare (beinga two-seater) and it's extremely eye-catching. Perfect show material - I imagine you will be beating them off with a stick on Sunday. Congratulations! Edited March 9, 2010 by Work In Progress
speedy Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Brilliant mate. Its huge!, nice colour scheme too (nearly). I wonder if you'll get that in a magazine. There was a chap on here did with his cut and shut 1/32 Lightning T5. Steve.
OzH Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Looks fantastic, like it alot in this scheme Always liked the two seat hunters though...
keefr22 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 That's beautiful! Great job!! I actually dug my Academy/aeroclub bits out of the pile last night, I think this may actually galvanise me into starting to stick them together! Cheers Keef
avro683 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 A lovely finish, I bet it looks really impressive in that scale. Tony
Spad Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Superb Brian Lovely finish and a challenging project I imagine! Got to be one of your best! cheers Rick
zipper Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Thats one lovely Hunter, just love the Boscombe schemes and has made me think about doing a two seater
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Wow another nice model Brain You must have great stocks or red, white and blue paint!
Alan P Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 That's a beautiful result, looks very eye-catching! Alan

Devilfish Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Thats beautiful!! Makes me wish someone still did a 1/48 2 seater!!
Rich F Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Lovely Hunter, and in a scheme very rarely seen. Rich
StephenMG Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Lovely! This scheme really does bring out the lines of the Hunter beautifully. My only comment is that XF321 (in it's RAE days) was a T.7A and so was fitted with an arrestor hook. Cheers, Mark
CornishRebel Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Look, Brian... Just stop it...ok? Beautiful, gorgeous, stunning...now stop annoying us mere mortals...or else. All the best, Phil.
MODeller Posted March 12, 2010 Author Posted March 12, 2010 Thanks for the nice comments everyone, much appreciated! Arrestor hook comment noted, seems I have finally found a Modeldecal sheet that needs a correction, I may modify the model if I can find a decent photo. It will be displayed at Shuttleworth on Sunday although not neccesarily on the Wallingford stand, hope to see some of you there. MODeller

Hunter T.7A XF321 at Greenham Common The arrestor hook arrangement is exactly the same as on the GA.11s and T.8s, so you could use any of them as references too. Edited March 13, 2010 by StephenMG

Thanks for that Steve, there is an arrestor hook in the Echelon parts box so it will be duly attached on Monday! MODeller
StephenMG Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 (edited) Good man! Don't forget that the tail bumper was larger than on the non-arrestor hook aircraft, a little further aft (straddling the tailcone/fuselage joint) and offset to port to clear the hook. Edited March 13, 2010 by StephenMG
Julien Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 Nice ripple hunter! That looks really good, nice job on the colours. Can I ask exactly what you used as I have the Ripple DC-3 in the stash waiting. Julien

You could use Humbrol Gloss Midnight Blue 15 and Satin Signal Red 174 as alternatives. MODeller
