  1. Sadly it does. It’s not cheap either.
  2. Really great work on this, Nick. My Wife has bought me one of these for Christmas and I am really looking forward to delving into the box to see the contents for myself. As for extras, I’ve discovered a lovely etch set that appears to cost more than the kit! Ouch.
  3. Thanks for the warning. I have the Meng Ford GT 40 in the stash and was looking at the Zero pale blue to paint the bodywork. I think I might try my initial thought and mix my own colour.
  4. I’ve just bought the Italeri kit. That is an upgrade to the kit parts.
  5. Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell P34 Tamiya 1/12 Tyrrell 003 (forgot about that one!)
  6. I’m watching the film now and had to look it up. I clearly remember the first time I saw it, in the cinema in Tonbridge in October 1971.
  7. At Hannants backorders are charged when they come into stock.
  8. As mentioned above, there are two parts included in the kit, one with the correct curve (as shown) and one which isn’t quite right. The line is part of the moulding process incumbent with injection moulding. It’s in the instructions.
  9. Showing back in stock on the Airfix page now for dispatch this week. One of the advantages of not having to wait for new stock from India.
  10. That’s an easy fix. Leave off the crowbar and move the transfer.
  11. The moulding line is not a fault, it’s part of the manufacturing process. The short aileron parts are the lower halves of the full size equivalent on the real aircraft. It’s all in the instructions.
  12. It’s a bit like some of my school reports. Could do better 😉.
  13. Leaving the crew door open helps viewing the rear fuselage interior. It’s surprising how much you can see under that great big glass canopy. Full interior doesn’t actually describe the kit correctly as the centre fuselage area is a void!
  14. You’re welcome, Simon. The original aircraft for the dams raid were taken straight from the production line in April 1943. The B.l Special aircraft for carrying the Tallboy aircraft carried KC codes, concurrently with the B lll’s. YZ was used for Grand Slam aircraft.
  15. ED 932 and all the other Dam Buster Lancasters were B lll Specials, fitted with Packard Merlin engines.
  16. I agree completely. My comments were made based on the instructions in the kit and side box art which both clearly show that the markings for ED932 are included in the kit, when the very obviously aren’t. I have apologised to Simon.
  17. No elephant, markings for AJ-G ED932 are included in the kit, but don’t ask me the pilot because I don’t know who was flying in her then. I have invested in Fantasy Printshop codes and serials (no, I only have one kit for anyone wondering). The current plan is to model ED593 but I need to work out the best method of obtaining the nose art.
  18. Interesting read, Reilly. For info, The majority of the Lancasters used in the Dams raid were converted back to standard so the configuration for AJ/G in 1944 as stated on the instructions is correct.
  19. I agree completely, it’s very misleading. Given the size of the crew door it wouldn’t surprise me if the bed location isn’t visible too.
  20. Sorry Simon, I meant the Master barrels and I did order them from Big H. It must have been the smallest suitable box they had around. They are actually meant for the HK kit but should fit the Border one without issue.
