It might be pity to exclude licence-built engines - several interesting aircraft, like the Draken and Mystere, were to all intents and purposes 'Rolls-Royce' powered.

There's even an argument for including the MiG-15

It's a funny one isn't it? I genuinely feel like (completely counter to rational argument I should add) the MiG-15 has a much better claim to being RR powered that, say, the Harrier or Concorde 😄.

Somehow it's always felt like RR 'pinched' a lot of engines, when of course the reality is that those who designed them just became part of the RR family. 

Lot of ship and sub subjects could be done here come to think of it. 🤔

I'd certainly say absolutely include any under licence, oddball or 'snide' RR based stuff, as has been alluded to above lots of interesting possibilities..

The consensus seems to be for a very broad definition of Rolls Royce, clearly we've all succumbed to @Enzo the Magnificent repeatedly chanting 'build 'em all' and go for all-emcompasing definitions.

 

@Ngantek are you happy to go on the list of interested parties?

 

I'm going to need some talented help on the hosting front to straighten me out about Rolls Royce engined Mig 15s though!!

Erm.. well my record in GBs trails somewhere behind that of Wile E Coyote's in the field of bird catching, but sure why not. 

 

Glancing over at the wall of doom, there are certainly many options... though if I were to take the purist view, fewer 'interesting' ones that I might have expected, which I'll attribute to the smaller number of very successful engines that RR produced. Anyway, I'll come up with something more interesting than a hawker mustquitofire when the time comes no doubt.

It's not as if I have a great track record for completions, not even in KUTA most years! From my previous time hosting a GB though I discovered that being host gives you a perfectly legitimate reason not to finish anything because you're so busy encouraging everyone else.

 

Hawker Mustquitofire as a Watiff? I might live to regret that, or someone can gut it into ChatCPT and see what it comes up with.

Look for Dapol, Revell or Gowland & Gowland and under the name 'Highway' for a 1911 Roll Royce

The parts break-down is exactly the same as Airfix

I'd even venture to suggest that the Airfix kit is a copy of the Gowland & Gowland kit

To my shame I've never built either of those and yet I love them both, so many Phantoms overhead growing up as a lad in East Anglia!

I'll come clean and admit that I would build a Spitfire but the only ones I build are Mk22 for 73 Sqn because my dad worked on them and the 'desk guardian' needs a refresh.

 

Then I'd add in a car, from the 50s mos probably certainly not one of the modern charmless boxes.

 

And probably a civvie

 

And most probably finish, maybe 1 of them
