Wolfpack Design is to rebox the 1/72nd Academy Stratocruiser - ref. WP17215 - Boeing B-377 Stratocruiser - BOAC - Premium Edition Kit.

Kit includes squared propellers and new spinner parts.

OH YES !!

 

My second favourite of the early airliners, {after the Connie] and which we used to see at LHR in the 50's when the Queens Building observation deck was open.

 

Gotta have one of these !

I've got a couple of the original Academy release; without any doubt I'll have a couple more of these!

 

IIRC someone (I think it was Cobra Company) released resin engines that were much better than the kit ones, and had the added advantage that they significantly reduced the amount of ballast needed in the nose  - might be worthwhile for whoever's got those moulds to dust them off again ...

Could the set of B-29 engines from Metallic Details be used, or are there visible differences between the engines?

Different engines from the B-29, more akin to the B-50 engines.

What a beauty. Too big for my storage facilities, sadly. Saving that for Airfix Nimrod, Valiant, Victor, Vulcan, Shackleton, Lancas......... etc etc.

 

I'd dearly like a kit of this aircraft in the BOAC scheme in 144th though.
