Ptmvarsityfan replied to Andrew.S's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
A very nice clean build, these SBS kits look to be very high quality. I bought the Miles Whitney Straight at Telford and am looking forward to building it, inspired by Andrew's build. Cheers, Paul -

A great day, absolutely knackered and spent far too much! Seems to be back to the pre- COVID days and a healthy number of overseas visitors. Got to force myself to repeat tomorrow, can't wait. Many thanks to the volunteers who have done a marvellous job. Super stuff, cheers Paul

It's my scale but I don't do Luftwaffe, saying that I hope it's a big hit for Airfix and looks like an excellent model, look forward to seeing it in the flesh (?) tomorrow. Cheers, Paul

Lovely detailing and finish, superb! Cheers, Paul -
I like Xtracrylix RLM01 Silber which is good for pre war doped aluminium and post war "high speed silver" Agree with Giorgio N re the old Mithril Silver, the replacement is darker and more grainy. Cheers, Paul

Thanks for the info, I assume they weren't comparable with the 20mm cannon on most versions but was it stability/control issue on the narrow body AEW versions?

Currently building the Sword Skyraider AEW, the kit has prominent leading edge slats included but looking at my AD/A-1 references can' t see them on other variants. Where these unique to the "guppy" variants? Many thanks Britmodellers

Backordered one from Hannants, as noted above a reasonable price for a large kit and an important 1950's RAF aircraft although a bit forgotten these days Cheers, Paul
