  1. The collection of data is across browser sessions. So opening the page in a tab and then closing that tab then visiting again an hour later but without closing the browser window will count as one single visit, but closing the browser itself then reopening it at a later time will count as a seperate visit. Of those 800 none members they could all be members who are not signed in. Or they could all be none members. What you say about Italeri in the second to last paragraph I cant argue with almost all of it, in fact, I would agree especially about pricing, (which is why I stayed out after covid pricing forced me out) but the rest of it about opinions I cant agree with the idea "our" opinions dont have an effect on them. I cant help but feel this will be one of those subjects that wont resolve... So Im happy to just leave it where it is because as you say its an Italeri release thread. 🙂
  2. Any yet this site has had 2.52million visits this year, 841,272 visits 841,272 visits per month averaged out (over 3 months because Aprils numbers are not in yet).
  3. It isnt me who is distorting reality mate. Try opening up your search to something like Airfix, or Tamiya you might come up with something relevant! You can come up with any search you like on google but the amount of unique users who watch videos on youtube and are part of facebook groups speak for themselves. Airfix, Tamiya, Takom, Kinetic and so many others I dont even know all see the value of advetising in those spaces because they bring sales. In your mind you are trying to seperate this forum from other forms of social media but they are in reality all the same. Peoples use of the internet has shifted significantly since the late 90s believe it or not. I remember that being a time when the modelling community had only just started to move into the internet so no not many used it, but we are now 25 years later. Things have changed buddy. Everybody looks stuff up on the net! But to wrap it up, in the end I guess I youre right Italeri or any other company will not care what you say because nobody sees it anyway.
  4. Its wrong that the "average joe" doesnt read forums and other forms of social media. They do and a lot more than people think. They dont all comment and take part in them as much as people like you are I do but they are there reading, watching and taking onboard the information they see in them. Your idea that you need multiple boxings in order to keep sales going. You tell Tamiya that. Hasegawa made a good living reboxing kits with different decals and they gained a reputation of a particular kind because of it, but some of their kits are big sellers in the same box. Just look at their F-14 kit with the high vis VF-111 jet on the box (K12X). That sells and sells and sells. Like you wouldnt believe sells and sells. I would not like to give the impression that the bad press they got is the only reason they died but it was a major contributing factor. That and in my opinion their choice for distribution also didnt help them, but that was what kept them off the majority of retailer shelves. And in order to loop this back to this thread about Italeri they also do not deserve all the venom people spit out about them. My experience isnt of a single shop but supplying cases of kits to many shops both in the UK and in Europe (central mostly). And what forms my opinion is what those retailers told me they see and what they sold. Subscriptions to any given channel is a zero indicator of the amount of viewers and more importantly how many are influenced by it.
  5. Cost of production in Europe in general is climbing an geometric rates, that combined with the shipping costs then kits from the likes of Italeri makes them a rather unattractive purchase for casual modellers and especially modellers who know the "quality level" of the kit. Not that the quality of Italeri kits is low, it isnt, their QC of production Ive always found wasnt bad at all, but in terms of its tier rating within the modelling world.
  6. Italeri still produce in Italy?
  7. That is exactly what Phil Flory found with the Italeri Jaguar kit when he revisited it a few years later. The Kitty Hawk Jaguar kit I have built twice, the first time around I struggled and I really enjoyed the build because Im in it for the journey I guess. I still have two others on the build list and theyre not still there because its a handful of a build but because there are other things I want to do.
  8. No thats wrong. And the actions of companies like Airfix proves that when they invite youtubers to kit release events. The medium with which kit releases are made has changed over the years and there are many more people who read and dont post on sites like this... I didnt work as a retailer but as a supplier to retailers and I listened to the retailers and they were getting more and more aware that the mob on the internet was getting larger and larger. I didnt deal with a packing box of mixed kits but in pallets of the same kit, so I know that the same kit sells to the same shop over and over again.
  9. Ive built a lot of them and had no more problems with them than any other manufacturer at the same price point, and yet all you ever see is people slating them. Nobody ever had a good word to say about them. And I know a couple of people who slate them and never actually built one! And you can turn that around back to the subject of the thread. Italeri... Phil Flory built a Jaguar a few years back and had problems with it, then when he had another go a few months ago didnt have the same problems. Same person, same kit...
  10. I cant wait to get my mits on this one. Add it to my SMO collection 🙂
  11. That would be true if you only think of it as this one site, but it wasnt, it can be the same user over several sites which makes it look like more. I can say something about you on here, and something on 4 other sites and on facebook and it looks like there are several people talking about you because they are all under different names but its just one person. The opinions of people carries more weight than you might think, recently Airfix invited a load of youtubers to a launch of their Seaking kit. No real reason, theyre just 10 guys talking on a website right? Single box with multiple production runs. But maybe youre right, maybe the opinions of people on a site like this means nothing at all to any one at all... On that basis I wonder why theyre given if you think they count for nothing. The actions dont fit the words there though do they. You opinions count for a lot more than you given them credit for.
  12. I found Excel gets unstable quite quickly. I studied SQL Server at uni many years ago so thats what I use. Scalemates is similar in stability but its not local which is fine for most people Im sure but its not what I want for me.
  13. Umm. It was the constant sniping that killed Kitty Hawk in the end. Italeri doesnt deserve the constant tirade they get in places like this. Theyre not perfet kits by any means but they are more than buildable and they can end up looking pretty good, they make some interesting and unique subjects too.
  14. Ive got the Anigrand kit. It isnt worth it.
  15. Try the Combined Community Codec Pack (CCCP) with Media Player Classic. If VLC isnt working because its audio is distorted its a codec issue. I have an i7-7700 PC that has Win11 on and CCCP works on that and it will play a DVD from a USB DVD
  16. Its a quotation. Its not my original work. I keep it to remind me its about the idea you want to convey rather than technical correctness, which is important in places like this. Its actually a misquotation of a quotation, but when it was said the idea of what was meant wasnt lost. Thats why Ive kept it all these years. And your post is a perfect example of what I was talking about. You see I dont mind the mistakes in themselves, what I dont like so much is the holier than thou people who point out mistakes while making those same mistakes themselves. Bad grammar and poor punctuation is your enemy today. 😀 Having said that who am I to judge.
  17. I find it not so much annoying, as a little funny that a lot of people offer up corrections and then make mistakes in that correction.
  18. I wouldnt mind a model of the Ukrainian frigate Hetman Sahaidachny. Cant see it happening though
  19. I missed that one. I have that scheme on an aftermarket sheet so didnt bother buying it.
  20. Did the Italeri kit have Bravo November decals? I just had to look that up, the Matchbox kit does have BN decals. I remember building that with the Union Jack on it. Been such a long time since I had forgotten it. The Airfix kit I built didnt have them though. Maybe it was reboxed?
  21. I think this will be quite nice. I dont think we've ever had model of Bravo November.
  22. You have more than a shot with dinner. I have no doubt the Trumpy kit is better I would just like to build that one and not feel like some scalper has had me over doing it. Again its not so much the price of the kit as feeling ripped off in the buying of it. The last one I saw on ebay was about £100. Which is stupid money and only wanted because its been so long since it was released. MH-53E. Hardly a big thing to turn the rotors around. I like kits like that, they present more of a challenge. They can always be trusted to turn up something nice on the road side. Even if you do have to wait a while for it like the Scania S Series truck, which was well worth the wait. It was that kit that broke my metal block for 24th trucks after a bit of a break from them. Nothing like a nice custom Dutch truck to reawaken the mojo 😉
