bar side
A group build on A FB page got me started looking at the stash & eyeing a TR-1 kit I picked up a while back. I saw a U-2R take off & display at Mildenhall in the 80s (could well be 85) so I needed to make her a serial number who had at least visited the UK, even if they were never officially assigned to RAF Alconbury. Just to prove a point a U-2S visited a Mildenhall today. Anyway I got the HAS out at the weekend and tried to get some shots as the sun went down & cast long shadows. Hope you like them. And a couple on her own

Spitfire31
You've made good use of the setting sun to add atmosphere to those excellent and convinving photos – in particular nr 2 from the top! Almost forgot to add that the model itself is stunning, as is the whole dio. You could have added a further touch of 'life' by offsetting the front wheels of the Follow Me car and the service carts… Top tier modelling (and photography)! Kind regards, Joachim
jonf45
you're trying to pass this off as a model, when they're clearly real photos of the real plane??!!!! Absolutely stunning, love the top ones with the HAS, brilliantly done Jon
Baldy
Nice model and nice photography. Very convincing in the low angle lighting. Cheers Malcolm
Lightpainter
Very nicely done! This used to be my favourite aircraft. I once cut up a rareplanes U2 to Build a U2R. Scratchbuild wings and longer fuselage. A lot of details needed scratched.

It’s actually a Mazda! So not sure it will let me fest the wheels. Surprisingly difficult to find good 1/48 or 1/50 military vehicles And the photography was done with my iPad, trying desperately to cut out the real life in the background! Pete in Lincs
Well the model turned out very nicely indeed and the pictures show it off so well. I like the shadows idea.
gazza l
Very nicely done and nicely photographed. Fond memories of these and A10's flying over my house in St Ives, which was under the flightpath to Alconbury! gazza l
Ruskin Air Services
During the 1980's the U2/TR1 also flew out of RAF Sculthorpe
Smithy
Great work. What's the wingspan on that? I'd imagine not small being 1/48 😉
