  1. Very nicely done, really like the SEA camouflage and the bright Colombian national markings. I'm a sucker for a C47
  2. Very well done, I built this kit a couple of years ago I found the stance a bit strange
  3. Turned out really well, I will say that the italieri kit is the best of rest. Being a bit of a Dakota freak I've built all of the 1/72 offerings - there on here somewhere, I will say the new airfix kit is very good
  4. If not find yourself a Mossie from matchbox they're not too bad and like the frog kit both bomber and fighter can be made
  5. Some of the bombaimers took to marking the perspex dome their compartments with a Chinagraph pencil or a borrowed lipstick, some also used lengths of string across the aperture.
  6. According to my battle of Britain the movie book MH434 12 different spitfires with 9 different serials. Codes: AI-A, AI-D, AI-E, AI-G, AI-H, AI-K, BO-G, CD-F, CD-H, CD-M, DO-N, EI-H Serials: N3310, N3312, N3313, N3314, N3315, N3316, N3317, N3319, N3321 the problem also is that some of the other spitfires used some of the the same codes and serials. The only way to recognise MH434 is the 4 blade prop, 6 tubular exhaust stubs, 4 aperture wheels and a small dipole aerial under the rear fuselage, hope this helps. Mark
  7. I do have the book "the making the battle of Britain". I'll have to dig it out as it does have a lot information about the individual planes used in the movie
  8. Wow nice builds, just need a buffalo bird especially like the one modified for the dambuster experiment flown by Arnie Schrader
  9. Hate getting builders block. Must be that time of year where the nights are longer than the days. Seeing how much building I got done several months ago compared to recently is quite alarming
  10. When my new valiant turned up a month ago with warped wings I sent Airfix plenty of images from all angles. From sending them the email to receiving the parts took 4 days ! As they say "a picture is worth a thousand words".
  11. Leaving all the dangly and pointy bits off until the end is the best way to go that's the direction my esci/Italeri Dak is going in
  12. Revell repopped the italeri kit for a while, also Airfix did the same.
  13. Just watch out for the wings sprue B mine was badly warped and damaged. But at least Airfix were kind enough to send me a new sprue of parts within a week
  14. Always want to build one of these again must be 40 years ago I built one I even have somewhere the Airfix jigsaw of Roy Cross's box art
  15. Small update, finally finished the the control van and the humber snipe saloon: Last look inside And where it'll sit on the diorama base: Model on boys and girls
  16. While deciding that a second Lancaster will need to be built I started the runway control van. So an Internet search I found two candidates one a radio truck from wee vehicles and an actual control van from milicast. When they arrived the radio truck was put to one side for a future project, so I made a start on the milicast model. Well unfortunately Mine had been in a little bit of an accident on it's way from Scotland, shame really as its a nice kit made from a polyurethane resin and the basics are obviously taken from the old Airfix Austin fire truck: Oops there were a few more damaged parts as well as this, so I got busy and scratch built a new body and used the milicast interior: Milicast cab, suspension and wheels on an Airfix chassis: Trail fitting: Model on boys and girls
  17. Interested in this kit, but I must finish off Airfix's other mosquito their 1/24 monster. I'm wondering when as this kit is modelled on a TT35 some one will build a famous film star from a certain film?
  18. Excellent choice Lewis, will be following this. Only earlier I was thinking shall I do a quick Dak build!
  19. Must finish mine off started it when we went into lock down
