Hello friends:

To recreate the landing moment, the flaps and slats were cut off to put them in landing position, the air brakes and arresting hook was extended and I also had to enlarge the front landing gear to the completely extended position.

The painting has nothing especial except the fluid leaks of the underside. The large amount of lettering is what adds interest to the final look.

Beautifully done. Love your attention to detail, especially so regarding the crew figures.

Beautiful Model, Diego!!

I have a F-4B almost finished. The Hasegawa Phantom looks great once assembled but its such a fiddly pain-in-the-bottom to finish.

Thanks for posting!!

Very nice indeed better than most 1/48 models. Is there a base for the model or one on the way?

looks immense no way in a million years would you think that was 72 scale!

how do you do the fluid leaks?

I think the best way of doing that kind of effect is with oil paint. You paint the leak with a fine brush and when the solvent is dry you can rub with a clean brush to blur the borders. It is a bit tricky at the begining until you get the right density of oil paint, but it is not difficult.

Thank everybody.

About the base, the plane is displayed over a mirror so the paintjob of the undersurface can be observed, but I think it would be a good idea to paint the carrier landing marks over the mirror and add the arresting hook.

Maybe I do that.

Thanks again people.

1/72 you say?! That's a might impressive result, the range of panel shades and spot-weathering is very convincing at that scale.

Excellent work!
