  5. Hi guys, this is the latest, an F-18 is Spanish suit. Apart from Hasegawa´s kit I also used the cockpit from Aires, the seamless air intakes from Rhino, Eduard´s AIM-9L Sidewinders and the "Export Bugs" decal sheet from F4Dable Models. I used Tamiya acrylics and Gunze´s Hobby colors to paint the aircraft. The weathering is done mainly with Ammo products except some effects in the flaps made with a graphite pencil. Some further photos: http://dqscaleworks.blogspot.com Thanks for looking. Q
  6. Really beautiful Mark. I don´t get tired to watch the photos. Q
  7. That one looks awesome Spence. Superb paintjob. Q
  8. Thanks a lot for your kind words people. I´m really happy you enjoyed the model. Q Hi Mick, Those enamel products are really easy to use, basically I paint with the product, then I blend the spots with a brush slightly wet in enamel thinner until the shape looks nice and finally, after waiting a few minutes to the spots to dry I blend the entire effect by rubbing gently with a dry and soft brush. When you are happy with the effect you must seal it with a thin coat of acrylic gloss varnish. Of course you can repeat those steps if you want a more dirty look. The dirty dark spots are made splashing with a black wash. I used "NATO camouflages wash" from AMMO diluted a little further with enamel thinner. I splashed the paint on the surface with a brush and after waiting 5 minutes or so, just for the wash spots to dry, you can rub the spots with a clean and dry brush until they are blended to your taste. I also used a light grey product "Light dust" to weather around the panel and rivet lines. This makes a nice effect of weathered flat aluminium. For the brown leaks of the underside I used a brown wash "Track wash". The method is the same, first I draw the shape of the leak with a fine brush, next I make it as sharp as possible with a brush slightly wet in enamel thinner and finally I blend the leaks rubbing softly with a clean, dry and soft brush. Sorry for my poor English pal, if there is something not clear enough please tell me. I hope nowhere, it looks dangerous for the landing approach. This kind of things only happen in the photoshoped universes. The tarmac is from Uschi Var der Rosten, they have really cool airfield tarmacs, have a look: http://www.uschivdr.com/shop-uschi/ Th background is photoshoped from several photos. I´m glad that you like.
  9. Hi Melchie, Yep, the Ferris wheel reminds the one in the town near Chernobyl. I thought it would look nice with that "apocalyptic reminiscence". Sorry, too many hours playing Call of Duty´s Modern Warfare Q
  10. Hi people, this is my personal interpretation of the legendary Mig-21. Aires cockpit, CMK seat, Eduard undercarriage and wells, and some scratch. Painted with Alclad an weathered with Ammo products. Some more photos, for those interested: http://dqscaleworks.blogspot.com Cheers, Q
