CedB
... a printout of a runway I got from here, stuck to a scrap of MDF and sealed with Klear. Some static grass and Bob's your cousin twice removed! That's a great resource Rob... lots of bits and pieces there including scale maps etc. Bookmarked with thanks!

Rob1970
Tick... tock... tick... tock...Oh I do love deadlines...Final coat of Klear is on, radar, wheels and assorted doors and hatches installed...Aaaand as I was installing hatches, I realized I forgot one... the escape/entry hatch in the nosewheel bay... so we do some last minute scratchbuilding! (my favourite kind!)Some styrene cut at clever angles...I'll dremel out the hole for the nose wheel later...One spacious hole for a nose wheel, and a tiny ladder made from some 0.8mm round styrene...Painted, drybrushed with silver and black and stuck into place. Right, one disaster avoided. How about building some more stuff to liven up te diorama. Because we aren't under pressure enough, right? I had this Academy vehicle set in the stash, including a nice Willey's Jeep.Sprue-shot!15-minutes-later-shot!Some-more-minutes-later-with-an-airbrush-shot!Right... little men... I did buy some...A small selection, and a whole day tomorrow to paint them! Should be easy... right?Should end up looking something like this, in the end... *fingers crossed*More soooooon!Rob

kitbasher2009
A stunning build, and actually a great reference source for any P-61 build. I've a FROG P-61 in the stash that was going to be whiffed, and then not. Your build has highlighted plenty of limitations with the kit (I don't want to say 'shortcomings' as the kit is of its time) that I think have put me off a real world build as I couldn't do it proper justice. Maybe. So I'm back in the whif camp, and thanks for helping me make up my mind!.

Nomore Shelfspace
Admirable model, a lot more work than I could put in! Even without all that interior and the radar in the nose it would be impressive!

Winenut
Just absolutely cracking Rob in every aspect! Congrats! For starters what a great subject and one that I am going to HAVE to try before my fingers and eyes give out. I did a diorama recently (through necessity not choice!) and found it a lot of fun. Here's a link. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234975470-172-academy-p-47-bubble-top-thunderbolt/page-7?hl=thunderbolt I like all the vehicles and people and extras you found to build the story.....didn't know half of that was even on the market! Awesome build well done Cheers Bruce
