Scenic backgrounds...

Recommended Posts

I took a photo of some typically overcast English countryside a while ago, and recently had it printed by the local copy shop up to A3 size. I blu-tacked it to the wall, sat some models on a bit of railway grass matting and took a few photos. I thought you might like to see the results...

I know it's the same background every time, but I thought of building up a stock of background photos over time if the results are worth it. It's all a bit of fun, isn't it?

Cheers,

Nice job Dean. :speak_cool:

In particular, that second Tiggie shot is very convincing.

Mind if I make an observation? In my experience, photos of models often look more realistic in full sunshine. Something about the high contrast giving a better scale appearance possibly?

Although a less contrasty photo is desirable for showing better detail, dark shadows and bright highlights seem to disguise a model's size.

Yes, I know the UK weather is predominantly cloudy, grey and overcast but perhaps you might try to get a pic or two with some blue sky patches as alternatives. Just a thought.

Cheers.
