polkenti Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Hello ! Finished yesterday. Tamiya paints, starting from a Kagero profil. Markings AMD and airbrushed for codes. Heavy weathering, cant manage to make different stuff !!!! Bye and thanks for looking. AE. 6
cmatthewbacon Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Very dramatic... though if I was the pilot, I'd have my ground crew chief up on a charge for dereliction of duty! bestest, M.
Luis Alfonso Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 A true Mastemodel!! I always have liked models as new, but looking this one, I am beginnign to change my mind.... Very very Well done Polkenti!!
woody37 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Stunning, would of suited an open vac canopy and the inside detailed to match the amazing exterior
MakingModelsAgain Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Stunning weathering. Stunning model full stop!
AnonymousDFB1 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 That's one dirty aircraft Are the invasion stripes on the fuselage correct? I've not seen that combination of stripes before.
Pilot program Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Nice weathering. I love models weathered like this. Very good. Cheers, Ljubo
Mark Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 (edited) Incredible! A really great piece of art. What we perceive as how these machines looked is greatly different to how they were and I feel that yours is probably how they were. But 1/72nd?? Come one, tell the truth... A few questions though if I may? Red trim tabs on the elevators? Also what is the red staining, or panel line enhancement behind the radio mast? I agree with Mish, I've also never seen the invasion stripes begin so close to the fuselage, any information on this configuration? I am, of course, being really picky but that seriously has to be the best 1/72nd Spitfire I have ever seen. Edited January 5, 2012 by Busdriver
davidelvy Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I must say that the level of weathering and the added rivet detail is not to my taste at all. However, you are clearly a master of weathering techniques and have a high level of skill in this area. I am also astonished that it is a 1/72 scale kit. Thanks for sharing.
Duncan B Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Fantastic. I like the weathering, it may be too much for the real thing but as a modeller of 1/72 scale aircraft I can really appreciate the skills required to turn out work of this quality (even if I don't have those skills myself).
