S-boat 55
A great build this Rob, really impressive detail and finish to it! The crew being on deck really highlights how exposed these ships were to the weather, with an ocean so vast I'd not want to be in the middle of it in something the size of these! chaps on them were certainly some of the most unsung service personnel of the war,
Micha_Pol
This looks almost shockingly real, like a real ship literally shrunk down to 1/350... love it. The water also looks great, and has a very natural color.
Donald
Super looking model on a not too rough sea, These vessels are frequently modelled so adding the damage on the starboard side of the hull as per the photo gives it a bit of uniqueness. Nice.

That will keep you out of mischief for a bit I have most of the reference books and photos from HMCS Sackville that I visited last year.........shout if you need anything. Mrs D must be very understanding to have that (eventually) on the mantelpiece! Rob
Steve D
24 minutes ago, robgizlu said: Mrs D must be very understanding Honestly Rob, she's kind of given up on me, as long as I have somewhere to put it. I have a slot that will work and not impinge on her space, so the plan begins... I'll explain more when the thread starts, I expect this to be April for the initial drawing stage. Many thanks for the offer but I have all the books as well, this has been in the planning stages for over a year now. Lovely model of Abelia, I still don't know how you work at this tiny scales Cheers Steve
Jeff.M
I’m late to the game and am just now going through models ready for inspection. What superb work! Very well done, and most impressive. I really like how you replicated the actual paint chipping and other marks of wear and tear seen on the reference photo of the actual ship. I love that level of realism, and you pulled it off masterfully. Best, Jeff
