Airfix 1/72 Ka-25B Hormone (03058)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

with the build now eventually completed I present you with the final product. I used about 95% of the kit (the three seats were the only things I replaced). I added a cabin interior (made of leftover PE and resin parts augmented with lead wire and styrene strips), PE windshield wipers, PE door knobs and handles, etc. Painted using acrylics and weathered using oils and enamel wash. It has many issues of course but I learned many things in the process and I really enjoyed this build. I hope you like it.

I like it, despite being neither a Soviet or much of a helicopter fan.

But I did build that particular kit many years ago and was pleased with the result.

I've always felt it looks more a science fiction craft than a real helicopter.

You've done a great job on it.

I have some more Soviet hardware in my stash and I have more Soviet hardware on my to-buy list 😉

Great job.

Not the prettiest of helicopters is it?!

Thank you! No, it isn't and that's what it made so appealing to me 😇

I have this kit. I made the white and red version from the first issue with the limited skills I had back in the 1990s. So, knowing how this kit is I find yours to be absolutely OUTSTANDING. That finish is really fantastic. And although it is one of the better Airfix kits, your finished result barely looks like its from an Airfix kit. Bravo!

This once again shows that beautiful results can be achieved with older kits and they can be fun!
