I was unaware of Hobby Photohost until I read the replies on here, so thanks for the info guys.

I trust it will work on other forums that need photos downloaded from host sites. Or is it purely dedicated to this one?

I believe it will work with most sites. It gives me 4 options for sharing a photo:

Britmodeller, All Scale Trek, BBCode (IMG), and Direct.

I only use Britmodeller so I'm not sure what the other three options are but I am guessing All Scale Trek is another forum and the last two are generic formats. You can also crop and rotate photos in HobbyPhotoHost before sharing.

Hi @Noel Smith, it will indeed support any community, any forum and any website. And if you have issues at all, let me know and I'll look in to it :)  As mentioned by Kiseca, there are a default options for sharing that work on all websites, and a number of  dedicated share options/buttons, like the one for Britmodeller. The dedicated options provide you with the extra convenience of one-click sharing, and once signed in you can customise which dedicated share buttons are presented to you when you upload your photos, from a longer list of communities. If you need support for a site that's not already there, I'll add it! Just let me know either via PM or via a HobbyPhotoHost support ticket :)

Best

I have tried Google photos, which said it should be possible.

A lot of people have had problems with Google Photos. You need to use a proper photo hosting site, such as imgur, which is the one that I use. It's fairly simple to use.

@Wilfster Click on the photo that you have selected. Then when the choices come up on the RHS, click on "Copy" in the Direct Link box. Next, on BM, right click and then click on paste. A link will appear, followed by the photo.

Thankyou. Do the photos have to be made public?

Hi,

I host my images on my Google blog - https://timhalesblog1.blogspot.com/

Usually I simply right click on the image and enter the link into the image prompt or another forum uses  insert URL [/img] unfortunately I cannot fathom how to upload the URL of the image of this forum.

Could I ask for some advice, please

My Fotki feed has gone wrong. Normally when I open my PC the Fotki square comes up on screen I choose the - at the top of the square and it drops to the desktop line at the bottom of the screen. I can then use this to transfer images from my photo files to a Fotki album and afterwards click on those images, one at a time and transfer the image to which ever forum I'm on. This service has disappeared from my PC screen so I can't transfer any pics/photo's/images to any of the forums I contribute to! I've tried re-loading Fotki a few times which hasn't worked!

Also can someone explain what Drag & Drop is and how it works? Please as I'm a non techy aged 76  so please explain it in very simple terms. Thanks..

OR how/where do I find a URL of a particular photo please?

No idea what Fotki is or was - assuming it's a Photo hosting thing - edit - yep.

And from what I can gather, it's a paid one too, so I guess you could ask them what is going on?

Anyways - you have several options as mentioned in this thread, and all offer the option to either right-click and copy url, or an easy use link section.

Fotki is a major free photo-hosting site in the USA, the only one I could find about 15 years ago. I have asked for their help but the European base is in Estonia and they take weeks to answer. I still don't know how to drag and drop, so perhaps after 20 years I should forget the only British site I use, plus unhelpful, at 76 perhaps I should pack in model making after 68 years!

Drag and drop is like cut and paste.

You highlight the subject by putting your mouse arrow on one corner and dragging it to the opposite corner. That highlights the area to be moved in blue., Then use your mouse arrow to 'pick up' the highlighted area, move, or drag, it over to where you want to put it and then let go of the mouse button. The highlighted area is now added to the new site.

Not sure if this is the best thread but I've previously used OneDrive to host my images, but all of a sudden all of the links have broken and I can no longer create working links, anyone else had similar issues?
