Yes,I'm now going through the process of reinstating them.If you use the Embed option in the menu when you click on the three dots it'll give you a replacement URL.

Sorry I'm not following, I'm finding I can't get new embed links to work as well as all the historic ones breaking, I may just shift to another service  although that's a pain really,

A quick skim through posts from other forum members who also use OneDrive appears to show they're having the same issue,

Also sorry but that link isn't working,

Cheers

One thing I am finding when reinstating images in build thread posts is the Onedrive URL,for no apparent reason, decides to show as a link instead.

I've just been having a look at hobby photo host, it just irks me paying (not that the prices are unfair, they're very reasonable) for something when OneDrive can provide it but isn't reliable and talking to their engineers is like banging ones head as they say,

Highly recommended, plus it provides a small financial contribution to this very forum

I'm not 100% clear on how it works, do you have to have the photos saved locally on your harddrive or can they be saved in things like Google photos or OneDrive?

Hi, Sorry for the delay! I've been travelling to and from Bristol today to visit family and have only just got home :/

At the moment you do indeed have to have your images saved locally on your hard drive or mobile device in order to upload them to HobbyPhotoHost.

However, it occurs to me now you've brought it up that an 'Import from...' option might be a good idea. To allow you to import your photos from another service. I'll have to have a look at that sometime. For now though, you can only upload from local storage.

Also, feel free to send me a direct message anytime, or contact me though HobbyPhotohost if you need help :)

Best

Having used it for years with no problems, I'm getting phishing warnings and not much joy uploading to postimages.  Anyone else?

Yes, the photo's I've already uploaded are there and displaying correctly, but I get a 403 error when attempting to upload. @perdu has reported issues in one of his threads as well

Not sure if this is the best thread but I've previously used OneDrive to host my images, but all of a sudden all of the links have broken and I can no longer create working links, anyone else had similar issues?

I'm back on this forum after a long time away and would love to use OneDrive as I already have it, but the method pinned no longer bears any resemblance to the current OD UI. There is no "embed" option when you select an image on the browser version, only a "share > create link" method, which seems to create links that don't display on BM. Anyone else managed this successfully? Cheers

I'm sorry to say but if I were you I would look elsewhere, the links on OneDrive were still not workingast time I checked, I have gone back and forth with their 'support' team who appeared to want me to do all of the work for them and refused to acknowledge it was a OneDrive issue, from what I have seen on here and other forums the OneDrive links for others have broken as well,  so it is definitely not me,

If you do want to give it a go you have to access the photos on OneDrive via the files structure not the photos route, when opens via the files structure the embed option appears in the top bar,

Why they can't make the functionality work for both routes I don't know but I suspect it's the same cause as their poor response as mentioned above,

I do wish that this site was set up to upload pictures straight from my PC like many other model making  forums.

It's not a panacea, RMweb (the largest UK model railway forum for those not on it) allows direct posting but lost a year or so's worth of photos a couple of years ago when two drives at their host failed at the same time. Some users have re-uploaded theirs but most haven't.

Hi @Mike
Just a little post to let you know that as of yesterday I have increased the percentage Hobby Photo Host will donate from each  subscription, from 10% to 30%. So you should see a larger payout every month :)

Any Britmodeller user that has a subscription with Hobby Photo Host and hasn't already pledged support for Britmodeller, it's easier than ever to do so, and costs you nothing. You can now just click the below link and confirm your support to ensure you are all set up correctly :) This will maximise the value of our monthly donations to Britmodeller.

Unique Britmodeller Community Support link: https://hobbyphotohost.com/pledge?SkJnMmlFUmY2Y2RNV3pWTFR4bDdEZz09

Feel free to share this link in order to help boost donations to Britmodeller!

For those that are unaware, unlike all other photo hosting sites, Hobby Photo Host helps to support communities, including Britmodeller with regular donations. Because communities like this are important. Other benefits include helping to reducing the load, memory and storage requirements on their hosting and keeping photos safe, with 4-hourly backups.

All the best
Steve

I'm in the process of finalising a photo host to display my models on this site.  I've been on Flickr for several years, the free trial is near the end as I've downloaded 950 photos.  With that experience, the system is fine and is easy to use.  I've decided to try Hobby Photo Host to try out how easy it is to use before I start paying a subscription.  Do I stay with Flickr or move to Hobby Photo Host that donates to this site.  This is a test of uploading a photo from HPH:  (It's a Tamiya Churchill Crocodile that I'm adding a hedgerow cutter to)

Seems to work fine.

I can't comment on how good Flickr is as a host so I can't tell you which I think is the better solution or better value for money.

I can tell you that I am using Hobby Photo Host on a subscription, and the site is up to the job of storing my photos and sharing them on BM.

I like the quick links and integration with BM. I like that some of my subscription goes to BM to support the site. I like that whenever I have had questions or asked for support the response has been very quick and, for want of a better word, very human. I think the subscription prices are very cheap and great value for money for me.

Maybe Flickr would be a bit easier to use or maybe not, I couldn't tell you, but I like how Hobby Photo Host is run. It is capable of doing the job I need it to, so I choose to support it and that keeps the money in the community.

These are most of the reasons that I have decided to give  Hobby Photo Host a trial.  Flickr has been simple to use but with HPH and its use of albums to build collections of photos, the variety of subscriptions and the community support for BM has put it to the forefront of my options.
