Brewer
Hey guys, Here's my latest completion - the 1/48 Eduard F6F-5 Hellcat It was a very enjoyable build, and I look forward to building more of them in the future! I used a Quickboost engine and cowl, Ultracast prop, seat, and wheels, supplementary PE from Eduard, Karaya gun barrels, rocket pylons from the Hasegawa Hellcat kit, various scratch-built details, and Aeromaster decals. Kit exhausts were drilled out, elevators slightly dropped, and the gear legs were shortened. All paints are Tamiya acrylics You can find WIP pics on my Facebook page for my models: Brewer Models
Brewer
Color PE was carefully masked and sprayed to avoid any color mis-match. Edited April 2, 2013 by brewer

AndyC
Very subtly done and a nice model of a great kit. First time I think I've seen the Interior Green masked to the inside of the cooling gills! Wow!
Brewer
Thanks guys! The reference photos I have showed this plane pretty clean, so I took the "less is more" approach and tried to restrain myself aside from the exhaust stain

tank152
Sweet as. Don't think I ever got round to posting a comment for your Typhoon but that was a cracker as well. Tim.
hythe
Delicious! That's a very very dark finish there - which paint code was it?
Brewer
Thanks! The paint was Tamiya XF-17 Sea Blue, lightened with a bit of white. It looks more blue in person, very hard to photograph
