  1. Very nice! Would have been an easy thing for an RN version to run a British engine, too, as the Tiger had a Wright J65, the Americanised Sapphire!
  2. Simply phabulous... Art, really. Best thing I've seen in a while.
  3. Wonder if that would also lead them to consider a TA-4F/J? Guess it depends on how they've engineered the hump, intakes and various other details.
  4. Absolutely correct, Julien. If he wants to limit himself to a minority of the global market, he's entirely entitled to do so. Now, if someone else wants to create another solution that the rest of the world can easily buy without having to submit to the highway robbery that is Western Union (not even the most efficient service of its type), that would be very welcome, I'm sure.
  5. That's very nice. As I recall, the Trumpeter F-100F has fewer proportional issues than their C or D? Certainly yours does look right...
  6. And the rather cool HH-2D, of course, with a chin turret rather similar to the AH-1G... Actually, that should be buildable from this SH-2F/G kit without too many issues... The earlier single-engined versions would be quite a big conversion task, on the other hand. Easier in 1/72, where a resin conversion kit is available for the old Airfix SH-2F kit.
  7. Very nice - is that off a Viggen? No canards?
  8. Sounds like a good enough excuse to put my XF-108 together... How come no F-110 (the one marked as such on the nose) or F-111? No fair! It's a shame the USN equivalents/superiors of the same era can't be included (F11F, A-5/A3J - directly descended from the XF-108, F-8/F8U, F-4), but I suppose you have to stop somewhere...
  9. Am I the only one who wants to see some single-engined variants? And maybe an HH-2?
  10. No, well, she's drifted from conservative sounding at the time she was nominated in 2010 to more moderate now. She voted in favour of the new budget deal.
  11. Soooo, with Sen Ayotte unblocking the confirmation of the new Secretary of the Air Force, does that mean the Hog is safe? Or just that Sen Ayotte trashed too much political capital last week and had to back down?
  12. Excellent? Where did you obtain scale plans, may I ask (since I have LOTS of these beauties still to build)
  13. Hi Jeffrey, looking forward to ordering some items from you when you have the next sets of items available. Any chance of you doing anything for the X-15 in 1/32? Best wishes for success with the business.
  14. Bearing in mind the Hs129 was considered underpowered even when unladen and NOT suffering the recoil of the cannon... This should be a great little build. Remember fondly building one in the 1980s which I bought for pennies from that fabulous little kit shop in Louth.
  15. That stand is THE best thing about this kit, isn't it! I remember some pretty cool Lindberg stands back in the day (by which I mean me building 1960s kits in the 1980s)
  16. This is all looking very very good, I'm impressed! Exhaust looks much better, did you manage to obtain any measurements or just using the Mk1 eyeball? Cockpit looks very nice indeed.
  17. Nicely done, looks good! Which vac canopy did you use? Falcon? No fault of yours, but the exhausts are those of an F8F-2, not a -1. And of course the wings are those of an F8F-1B or -2, not a 50 cal-equipped F8F-1, per the markings. Looks very nice, nonetheless!
  18. I have a set of Rebell decals in 1/72. I have a feeling I may have enough for two aircraft, in which case I could probably share. Will let you know when I return from Hong Kong. By the way, that Flying Colours set sounds curiously similar to what Rebell sent me...
  19. Already building a Matchbox F.6 for the obsolete GB, but I could see myself doing another one for an STGB. The Lightning was always my favourite at airshows, as a kid!
  20. Just spotted this... Think it is a touch broad in it's original form. How about "In service with NATO at a particular point in time" - e.g. at the time of the Cuban missile crisis - after all, that's probably the closest we ever came to war in that era - not that much machinery beyond the ICBMs, IRBMs, SAC bombers and various interceptors would probably have seen any real action...! Late '62 would give us V-bombers, Lightnings, Hunters, Canberras, Shackletons, Voodoos, Crusaders, Huns, Scooters, Whales, BUFFs, Starfighters, Sabres, Neptunes, Mirages, Drakens (did the Danes or Austrians have them by then?), Hueys, Wessexes and Choctaws, Centurions, M47s, M48s and M113s, and LOADS more stuff that doesn't come immediately to mind, plus of course all the ships then in service.
  21. Glad you have a canopy now, looking forward to seeing the end result!
  22. Interesting, even if it rather devalues my Collect-Aire one... Still, this one might be an easier build!
