  1. Short answer- Yes. Long answer- It varies by country but mostly. It can get pretty complicated because a lot of languages like say Japanese and Chinese have a different structure to European languages so they have to modify it from what we would here. So he speaks out of order, but not necessarily in the same style.
  2. The backside is the old Tamiya German armoured car too, and those guns are looking a bit Teutonic! Great looking machine, ready to go stomp on some plucky freedom fighters :D
  3. Certainly the most interesting characters in the show, along with the Grand Admiral of course That said I'll take an army of those exiled stormtroopers, and I'm waiting for someone to build a patched up ISD Chimaera
  4. Those things were murder in the old Klingon Academy game
  5. The Shatner wig is a definite gem. Could end up the most expensive model sold from a film if it does well, I think the Enterprise D is the current one to beat at half a million Edit- Looking around a pyro model of Red Leader adjusted to look like Red 3 went for $2.4 million last year. And thats just a pyro, this one's the original.
  6. Looking in good shape for 900 years old I'm talking about Yoda of course British Summer must be at least a little step up from his swamp planet!
  7. I thought it was alright, not so good as Iron Blooded Orphans but it was nice to see them try something different. Liked the protagonist and thought she was rather endearing, very different from the more usual angsty leads! How they made the Gundams unique in this setting was also an interesting change along with what it meant to actually fly one of them. I'd say the finale was a bit weak and rushed, but the series did have some good kicker moments (Episode 12 ) so not a waste. Decent but could have been a lot better with more time
  8. Nicely timed, just finished the latest Gundam series and had a yearning for the new kits As long as they don't merge with a company named Yutani...
  9. He should have two eps left, hopefully enough to do justice to the plot Does feel a bit stretched and I'd like to see that Boba who slapped about a Stormtrooper platoon make a comeback, not sure who this nice chap is who keeps losing brawls... From what I read this was supposed to be a movie rather than a full TV series which is probably why it seems a bit thin. I appreciate the world building but looking for some ridiculous action set pieces next time
  10. Bandai does some tanks and ground vehicles from the Gundam series, either 100 or 144 scale but they are so big they look fine next to 72nd scale.
  11. Way the fellow tells it the official CG files were lost when the original servers and machines were sold off without anyone bothering to check what was on them first. However it turns out the artists who made them kept their own backups just in case. By getting in touch with each of them he's managed to collect most of the back up models. Not all of them and not all are complete but he seems to have got the main ones plus original textures, lighting rigs and so forth. There's mention of getting that data off old storage devices and making sure its the right (presumably ancient) version of lightwave, but I guess he got there in the end https://www.b5scrolls.com/#Screen5_01_1 He also used the original models and animation scripting to recreate some of the scenes but in HD. Still 90s era models but looks good to me
  12. Not long before this news there was word that someone in the studio was looking for the original CG ship models to use as a reference for a new project. Does make me somewhat hopeful that we'll get if not identical ships that at least the same basic flavour. With luck they'll be the same designs but in far higher definition. Incidently the bulk of the models can be found over at a site called B5 Scrolls. Very nice reference source, lots of interviews with the pioneering CGI creators behind the scenes. Snagging those models was a right coup As for the show, it'll never rival the original. For all the wobbly sets it was an excellent plot with excellent characters that you can't really replace, especially as so many have passed on. Personally I'd prefer the 'Babylon Prime' story line, this was the original plan for the series that would have happened if the actor playing Commander Sinclair had stayed on. Would have been significantly different with much more use of Babylon 4. We got some hints of it in the first series, but when the actor changed so did the plot into what we ended up with. Would be nice to see that original plot though, and it would work well as something new yet familiar
  13. Great work, the presidential escort is particularly nifty. They really need to bring those kits out again, whole thing needs a revival Starfuries were always cool with how they tried to stick to physics in space combat, though their replacement the Thunderbolt was always something I wanted to see in a (cheap) kit! Anyone remember the gunned up Fury with the rear turret? Only showed up once or twice in small scenes I think but looked the business.
  14. Looks superb, really springs to life especially as it is entirely fictional Easy to imagine it trundling along a road somewhere
  15. Capital Ships! A Neb-B Frigate in 1/1000 would be perfect, big enough for detail but small enough to be a safe bet for production.
  16. Yep, 12.5cm tall by 10.2 cm wide accounting for the frame. So pretty damn close to 1/72 if you forget Flight Lieutenant Humongus
  17. The culprit is that pilot figure, horribly out of scale I'm afraid :) If you have a look at the pilot compared to the solar panels on the Bandai one.... Then that chap Revell sent you, well, he's a bit of a beast. Perhaps a Wookie in disguise :D
  18. looking very nice Originally these ships were supposed to be a bit bigger, about 330 metres as opposed to the 250 something metres they ended up being. They made them a bit smaller so they didn't overshadow the hero ships during the big battles which is a pity. Always loved the simplicity of the design though, a giant cannon with an engine on the back and a bunch of other guns bolted to it. Does what it says on the tin
  19. It is a great build but highly unrealistic, there's no way a TIE fighter would live long enough to pick up even light weathering! From what I can tell it goes from factory fresh to spinning debris on its first flight, they didn't even bother with landing gear as none of them ever make it back to land. Well, if you believe what we see on TV anyway... Otherwise superb as always!
  20. in an odd bit of scheduling these are getting shown in Canada and NZ first, a three part mini series. First two eps are already out, mate from that part of the world says they are alright. Better than other more recent attempts. Also the scene, you know the one... this I think is a bit of it
  21. Poor little cannon fodder ship Turned out very well
  22. been a while since the thread updated, honestly not a huge amount to add 😛 The last series which remade the first series of Yamato had a veritable sea of ships following it, they recreated all but one vessel in 1/1000 scale and to an excellent standard. But with this current series releases have been far slower and there have been more variants than clear new releases. There has only been three completely new kits, plus two major variants in 1/1000. Been a reasonable selection of palm sized mecha kits but even then not tremendous. Bit of a shame really has there has been some decent ship to ship action with more on the way. Also apparently there won't be any aircraft kits due to poor sales. On a positive note a basic Andromeda without the expensive light and sound option is due next year, and a twin set of the Dreadnought class again presumably eliminating the light option for budget fleet building. These are good kits but more variety would be nice. SHow itself is decent enough, but it has strong competition from Gundam Origin and Legend of Galactic Heroes for space opera
  23. From what I've read it's because Japanese collectors don't have a huge amount of space so they tend to make smaller scales, when they do monster kits it tends to be because the fans petition for them or there is potential foreign demand. I suspect they'll sell more Falcons abroad than domestically for instance.
