Redboost Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Hi all, this is the recent Special Hobby kit built as MTPS Abbotsinch hatch. Cheers Libor
canberraman Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 That's beautiful! Your attention to detail is superb and it's hard to believe the model is only 1/72 scale. Thanks for sharing. Mark
stevehnz Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Niiiice. I'm waiting on one of these at the moment, hopefully arrive this week. I don'rt expect it to be anything as good as yours Libor but that looks like it is a nice kit, was it as good as you've made it look? I can sell off my Pegasus one now. Steve.
woody37 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Wow, that's a real beauty, stunning paintwork and those landing lights look amazing, hard to believe they are so small. The subtle weathering really brings it alive
Duncan B Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Another lovely build Libor. What paints did you use, especially the silver?
Redboost Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Thanks chaps! For the silver I used Alclad II Semi-Matt Aluminium. The landing light glass lenses are about 2mm in diameter and these I found by coincidence (don't ask for details:-) on the rear part of my wife's jeans. Overall easy build except bad canopy fit, therefore I cut it to parts and the hood was replaced with resin item from Alley Cat kit.
Vitor Costa Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Hi Redboost Amazing build! I like it a lot! Congratulations Regards Vitor Costa
Spad Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Now that is beautiful! The SH kit announcement was good news and your build has just confirmed it for me - I need one of these! Hope I can do it 1/2 the justice you have - as above, looks like a much larger scale. BTW - there's a committed modeller for you - always on the look-out for new materials to use in the hobby no matter what is going on! cheers Rick
Seahawk Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Thanks chaps! For the silver I used Alclad II Semi-Matt Aluminium. Overall easy build except bad canopy fit, therefore I cut it to parts and the hood was replaced with resin item from Alley Cat kit. Utterly astounding work. I sometimes wonder if you start out with the same basic kit as I have. Love those landing light lenses too: maybe you should buy your wife a new pair of jeans, harvest the sequins and sell them as the latest must-have modeller's accessory!
Yankymodeler Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Excellent! Hard to believe that's in 1/72, very petite work. I especially like your weathering, very realistic. Eric F aka The Yankymodeler
ChancerUK Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Simply lovely work, Ive ssen the kit about but never a Balliol built, I didn't realise the type had folding wings.
F-32 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Now there's something you don't see everyday..............very nicely done
rpaddy Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Hi Libor, Another beautifull masterpiece!! Congrats
Forlornhope Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Wow that look fantastic got a look at the RAF version a couple of weeks ago so have to ask is the wing fold part of the kit or scratch? but the finish of it and the weathering is amazing welld done
Redboost Posted March 26, 2012 Author Posted March 26, 2012 Thanks - yes, the wing fold is part of the kit.
FRANCE'41 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Oh, what a beauty!!! I love this plane! And the model is absolutely nice! Congratulations!
Severus Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Unfolded wings wouldn't have damaged the beauty of this bird...
Mike DeTorrice Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 A stunner in detail and finish ! Great work. Mike
