Cessna UC 78 Bobcat, Pavla 1/72

Hi,

Third post of secodnliner for this evening - Cessna Bobcat. This was an advanced trainer (as AT-17) or light universal transport or liason (as UC-78) machine of US Army or - similar purposes in US Navy (as JRC-1).

I know this machine from my early years - one of this type is preserved in Museum of Aviation in Krakow. In Polish markings from early 1950s.

However - I made her in markings of French airforces 1944-45, just because I found this pattern visually interesting.

Kit was by Pavla, 1/72. The decals are from drawer, following profile:

Nice work.

Missed buying one of these recently on Hannants 2nd Hand listing. It was going for £19.80 or something like that! Would love one for my WW2 RCAF trainers collection.

Thank you Paul for comment. I am not sure, but since AZ/Legato is issuing mosty of Pavla kits deeply improved - perhaps it is better to wait for their re-issue?

Cheers

Thank you Roger and Pat for kind comments

You must have a blooming big space to keep all these in.

Indeed - one room is devoted only to models....:)

Right J-W, can you grant me a Christmas wish, speak to my wife and ask if I can have the spare room for kits, I would ask her myself but I can't run fast enough to get away if it turns out badly !

Cheers Pat

Nicely done!  I was totally unfamiliar with the type when I saw it in Krakow years back--I must've thought it was a postwar East Bloc design!

Thank you. Great that you've visted our town and musem! I was in 2006 visiting the Smithsonian near Washington.... Also nice aviation museum! :) The KP in resent issue gave the Polish scheme, that one from museum, I think. It is colorful but not from my time frames for modelling...
