It should be against the law to put anything other than Minilites or RS alloys on Mk1 & 2 Escorts....!!

Some more lovely cars there though Matt.

Keith

A great event, and helped by being at a proper sports social club, so a proper bar, catering and facilities. Decent live music too, rockin' rollin' and strolling.

One last shot

  • Farmer matt changed the title to Warlingham car show SECOND and THIRD SELECTIONS ADDED

You don't see many (any) Maestros about these days.  Can't remember the last time I saw one.  My dad had the diesel van version for work back when I was a kid.  it wasn't pretty, but it was reliable, which must have been unusual :hmmm:

Believe it or not, there was a new batch about ten years ago - they'd been licensed to Romania and someone kept them going and then thought it would be an idea to re-import them.  Still just about the biggest car inside for its length outside, if you get my meaning.

Not that I have the slightest regard for the things.  That SD1, though ...

I rented a white one to take a trip to my folks' caravan before it got stolen in the 1990s, as my then car wasn't capable of the journey, and it was a pretty decent drive, with plenty of poke in the 1.4L engine.  I had been driving a Maxi 1750 though, so anything was an upgrade, although my shed was definitely shinier :)  The only downside to it was a puncture we got on site, which was hardly anyone's fault

An incredible number of really rare classics, almost too many to mention.  But that Espada - ooooooh that Espada.....  🤤

No, but I did have the earlier Beetle one, complete with cones to set out.

I had the light blue one with the push in mirrors too. By some miracle the mirrors survived and I'm pretty certain it's still somewhere at my Dad's house.

Looks like a good show, but then anywhere with an Espada will be good. I do think some of those wheel choices deserve a lynching though!
