Plasto
Hi, Another build for the Panzer IV GB. I built the Whirbel OOB adding in a home made Copper wire tow cable and a couple of Tamiya Jerry Cans and of course a bucket... It’s painted with the new Tamiya lacquers the distemper is Ammo washable white. Thanks for looking...

PlaStix
Superb Whirbelwind Plasto! The painting and weathering is really top notch! Very well done. Kind regards, Stix
ModelMonkey
Great finish on the camo - I find it very hard to do a convincing whitewash type finish, without it looking like I've tried to do a flat white finish and failed! Yours is just right!
Buzby061
Very convincing. Pete
Karlj72
Outstanding work, the only thing that spoils it is the track joints. For such a lovely looking model I think you would be wise to invest in a set of Friuls.

The aim for the build was to take a relatively inexpensive kit and build it OOB for the Panzer IV GB and see what we ended up with using no AM and basic modelling Techniques to enhance the kit parts. Was it possible to create a model that sits well with contemporary builds using AM ? I don’t know if it’s achieved that. But it was enjoyable to build n paint... So AM Tracks while nice don’t fit with the ethos of the build. Edited January 31, 2019 by Plasto

Retired Bob
1 hour ago, Plasto said: Buckets are an armour modelling law... 😉 I believe there was however a bucket shortage towards the end of the war, and only 50% of panzers had them! Talking of AM tracks I bought a set of Masterclub Jagdpanzer late war white metal tracks, they are joined together with resin track pins, look very nice, dome headed pin on the inside, locking pin for the outside, much better looking than a piece of wire. However, resin pin 0.5 mm dia, if the links are not properly aligned, they snap, if you use any force, they snap and then there is flying out of the tweezers to the carpet monster, I think I'm going to run out of track pins! perhaps I should have put this on the grump thread?
