  1. One of the wonders of the modern age! 😁
  2. Thanks John. I decided a few months back that everything I build would have a wee story or at least a human element to it. No more buttoned up tanks sat on the shelf on their own. If nothing else then at least a human for scale - and if there's a bit of narrative there then so much the better!
  3. Awesome! For me this is now the definitive weathered Corsair. I can definitely see me doing one at some point.
  4. Thanks Keef! I enjoyed this one - something a bit more playful than usual.
  5. Not the sort of thing you see often no! I'm pleased with the outcome over all, thanks.
  6. Thanks! None of the extras are attached so opportunity for a bit of a refresh down the line.
  7. Thanks - yours looks really bad - but in a good way! If I was doing another one I'd go for something really battered I - think. And your one would be a great inspiration!
  8. Enjoyed this one - one of 6 or 7 completions last year. Extras from the spares box, with the washing line content from AliExpress, as was "Jennifer" the mechanic. I couldn't think of a way to disguise the fact I'd just superglued the washing line to the window so I figured as a practical lass then Jennifer would maybe just opt for some gaffer tape! Seeing them on the big screen I'm reminded that good photography is just as important as the construction & painting! I'll get there in the end... 😀
  9. The finish looks great! You've really captured a metallic sheen.
  10. Fab! Favourite vehicle of all time! I've an Airfix boxing on the shelf and am a tiny bit through the frankly terrifying KFS 1:24 scale multimedia kit.
  11. Excellent! I did a Trumpeter RF-8 last year, painted but not weathered yet as it's destined for a diorama. I will be sure to shamelessly steal from your perfect weathering! 😁
  12. Thanks Francis! I'm not much of a rivet counter generally so as long as it's the right shape then I'm good. And yes, good for practicing techniques.
  13. Cheers - maybe Takom might be the way to go. Big stash to get through first!
  14. Cheers Kingsman - green plastic still yep. I'm generally a fan of drab Russian green but I'd seen Andy Moore's amazing AU finish a while back and was inspired. Genuinely not clued up on the myriad of flavours of T-55 (A or otherwise!) but I've always liked Cold War armour and I got it second-hand from Hattons for a good price. I had previously considered buying the old and apparently semi-fictional Tamiya T-62 to scratch the Cold War itch which shows that accuracy wasn't the main driver for me! 🙂 Thanks for the info though - I did go down a bit of a rabbit hole when building my 1:16 T-34 and it seems the T-55 and variants are no less bewildering! 🙂 Big Miniart fan but I've got their frankly alarming Werkstatkraftwagen and Caterpillar D7 in the stash so I'm good for fiendishly complicated interior style kits for now. There may well be a Miniart T55 in my future though - just not soon. If I survive the two Miniart kits mentioned then I'll be looking for a nice simple build.
  15. Thanks B McB! The modelling sticks/crafting twigs are real wood - not sure what flavour of tree though. Very slim and straight. The ones in the eBay link look just like the ones I got from Hobbycraft
  16. Thanks! My figure painting is slowly getting better
  17. Forward Control Landie remains my dream vehicle - which is why I'm taking my scary 1:24 KFS build slowly and carefully!
  18. Thanks! I bought "Wooden crafting twigs" from Hobbycraft for a (still being) planned bunker diorama. They don't seem to do them anymore but they're available elsewhere: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Round-Natural-Wood-Crafts-Sticks-For-Kids-Craft-DIY-Vintage-Wedding-Supply-GA/265220885662?redirect=mobile I've got a few things from AliExpress and not been disappointed for the price. It's a risk quality wise and many things may well not be fully above board but if you're willing to wait for shipping then it's worth a punt. A search for "1:35 resin" will yeild plenty of results
  19. Cheers Watto! I had planned to load more stowage on there but by the time I'd finished the dry brushing and streaks I figured I didn't want to hide all my work! Figure painting is definitely one area I'd like to work on. The quality of the moulding was pretty good here - any wonky bits are down to my painting! 😁
  20. Thanks John! I might look at fuel lines yep, I've plenty of thin wire. Pleased with the slightly distressed finish overall.
