Hi there,

I originally planned to build either P-61A or B for this GB.

But looking at my stash, I realized I also have a few SH-60... Does this helicopter also qualified as "ship killer"...?

Well... They do have torpedoes and some of them have penguin missiles too...

Cheers,

Mario

it should be ok as long as you have torp's or missiles fitted.

Hmmm, maybe I'll just use this as an excuse to try to get that bloody RF-4E finished as a WIP (gallery exclusion) aircraft.  It's only failed 2 GBs so far, 70s NATO/Warsaw & KUTA XI.  Maybe 3rd time will be a charm!  🤣

Or the Vigi would fit that bill as well, though less likely to see completion in the timeframe.  🤔

both options would be nice to see built.

Welcome to Group Builds.  Once you've had a taste, you can never leave.  😉

Thanks Chris! I've already been taking a gander at the future build threads...

Finally got round to getting some paint down on the interior of the P-61. Should manage some decent painting time tomorrow so will post some pics to the WIP once I've got something more interesting to show.

just a wee update on where we're at, so far we have 61 build threads going, and maybe 65+ builds....awesome job folks!

Plus we already have 2 builds in the gallery, a huge well done to them, great effort.

It's not to late to start a build at all, just start a thread and join in. I haven't broken down the builds yet but maybe we're lacking a bit in the Tank Killers and AFV's.

I'm have awesome fun as many have seen and I've also see some truly amazing builds as well....a 1/72nd Bren-gun Carrier and fully modified.........mind boggling!

To everyone keep up the great work, I'm trying to keep track of all the builds but it's not an easy task.....so if I miss a new build or haven't seen a recent update then I truly apologise, it's hard sometime to keep track of them all.

I'm off-shore for a couple of weeks, so maybe won't get the chance to keep up with all the builds, but my gorgeous Co-Host @Col. will be more than capable of take up the slack.  :whip:

ugly is probably a better word to describe her.

I wouldn't say that Rich, i kinda like the looks. I was able to get up close and personal with one of these a number of years ago. I worked for an Airline and there was an Army National Guard base on the other side of the airport. Well long & short, they didn't have duty 24/7 and relied on the security of the airport to deter people. The plane was on layover. I worked on the Ramp and drove over there at about 2:00 am one morning. and crawled around the outside for about 10-15 minutes. No pictures though as i didn't want to attract unwanted attention. Did the same for some F-18’s on a cross country flight. They stopped and did a layover one night. There was even a C-17 but they were loading that one so i didn't get to close. Ahh the foolishness of youth, risking federal jail time to explore.

Hi All,

Quick question for our Mods, do you consider the Blackburn Skua

a "Ship Killer"?

Given FAA Skuas sank the Königsberg, and other shipping, I would,

but I'd rather get your feedback before commencing (1/72 Revell kit).

Thanks

The Skua was designed as a dive bomber and, as you say, responsible for killing a reasonable tonnage of ships so I'd say yes.

You are considered being a "normal" among the GB devoted. In the cold rude world outside our comfort zone, well... Welcome along anyway! V-P

What you're ONLY signed up for 5 GBS!!! Expect better from members here!!! :fight:

With all the free time between those GB's you could at least fit in a couple more and still have a relaxing time. Remember sleep is an option here!

:rofl2: ....there is someone worse than me!! I don't quite go to the spread sheet stage....oppps ........ just remembered I do for planning my builds as well!

Though I must admit it'd be easier to help organise all the AM stuff I use, I just use Apples notes, guess there'd be less chances of double ups using a proper spreadsheet!

Dam thats such a good idea as well.......curse to you!!!

note: I'd scratch the AMK F-14D from the wish list, the Tamiya one has to be one of the finest models ever!!

Nice thing about the Google Sheets is since it's cloud based, so it's accessible on the fly from my phone if needed.  And yeah, it's definitely handy for tracking AM bits.

I probably need to add a couple things to the wishlist (the upcoming TAN Buccaneer comes to mind).  I haven't really kept up on it much.  I'm sure the Tamiya is nice haven't heard much bad about it...other than the expense.  I certainly wouldn't object to one if I could catch it on a decent sale...but I can't justify to myself full (or near full) MSRP.  I've got an AMK on pre-order so the price was more than agreeable, and I've got enough going on in my life right now that having to wait for it isn't a big deal.  But I am going to a model show this weekend...so we'll have to see if the vendors have anything tempting.  I was actually pretty good last year about not coming home with too much...though I did bring home a couple more F-4s that probably weren't needed.  😅  But at $10 for a 1/48 Hasegawa F-4J at the end of the day...who am I to say no.  The score of the day though had to be the 1/72 Hasegawa EP-3E.....I had no idea they even had a kit for it.

That must be the Frog kit.

I have sold my copy a few years ago in a weak moment.

I was lucky with my Tamiya F-14D, I won it at my monthly IPMS meeting........I needed armed security to help me leave the building that day! :D (Was the same day my Sea Fury took out 1st place as well).

Hopefully the Hasegawa F-4's are better than their attempt at the F-14's!!! They're just about unbuildable!

I use iCloud for my database/spreadsheet for builds, that and Scalemates for the master database. Though it is a bit dangerous having all that model information in one place.....especially so if SWMBO ever finds it and sees exactly just how big the stash is!!!!!  :chair:

Nice.  I use Scalemates as well for stash management.  😁  Though I'm running out of closet space.  I joke w/ people when they find out how many I got squirreled away, "Hey, I'm working on my retirement plan.  Get them now when dropping $20-30 isn't a big deal, before I get on the retirement fixed income."

Oh I know...and I want too.  I keep staring at the kit everytime I walk into the storage room.  I'm just not sure I'm going to have the time.  I may end up taking a crack yet...and have another started & unfinished kit on the desk.  😅
