Rob 1
That is one superb battleship, a great piece of work. It is a shame to have to cover the swastika symbol, as the context is that it is representing something from its time in history, and also the model is representing a ship from the Wermacht! Stashaholic Steve
It is a shame to have to cover the swastika symbol, as the context is that it is representing something from its time in history, and also the model is representing a ship from the Wermacht! Sensoring Nazi symbols in a purely historical context (as here) is idiotic. While we're at it, why don't we also airbrush the Red Star? After all, Stalin was (in terms of bodycount at least) an even worse mass-murderer than Hitler. So let's at least be consistent here if we're going to - quite literally - airbrush history. As far as the build is concerned, you've done a spectacularly good job. The time and money you have obviously put into this project have been well rewarded. Pete610
It has not always been so liberal - here in the UK though - for nearly the whole decade of the 1960's - Airfix issued it's models of German WW2 planes without a swastika in its decal sheet !. On her final cruise the bow and stern swastikas were painted out, so as not to aid aerial recognition....by the expedient of a large grey stripe across the full deck covering the motifs. Matt182
Wow, just wow. You fully deserve the plaudits you have received. Your model is nothing short of museum standard. I would love to build this kit but the wife won't allow a 1 meter+ model in the house!
andyrowe
It has not always been so liberal - here in the UK though - for nearly the whole decade of the 1960's - Airfix issued it's models of German WW2 planes without a swastika in its decal sheet !. Airfix still release kits without Swastika's, as do Revell (of Germany).

Deacon
I don't don't know what to add that has not already been said. You have produced a stunning build mate and it is awesome in every way. I would also like to add that the 'blanking' of the Swastika's does detract something from the build. Show them mate, if you don't mind, so that the model can be viewed just that little bit more historically accurate.
