F-84F Thunderstreak

Recommended Posts

Very old and simple kit. Lacks all detail. I added some detail in the cockpit. Decals are very old Dutch decal and thick. All in all a nice model to build in between some more demanding builds.

Very nice! For all the duelling over which F84F kit most accurately  depicts the full scale one, the kit looks like one and builds up nice. Thanks for sharing.

I built this kit many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Simple? Yes, but it's a satisfying build. I'd do it again with no hesitation. You've done the kit a great justice.

Bas, great looking Streak, excellent colours as others have mentioned.

One suggestion: rip off the left pylon tank! 311 was nuclear tasked by the time Streaks were camouflaged, and all 311 aircraft had a left inboard pylon that was configured for 'the bomb'  and couldn't carry a tank. So they flew with a fuel tank on the right side only, in an asymmetric configuration. There are relatively few photographs that show it, due to secrecy surrounding the strike tasking, but here's one example: https://beeldbank.nimh.nl/foto-s/detail/efe51249-bb69-523a-8938-d67a15ec5f3f/media/e54834fe-d197-3668-291c-d4432adbeef1

More on the tanks and weapons of the RNLAF Streak can be found on my website: https://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/models/f84f.htm
