The sirens make you shiver - Hong Kong Models 1/48 B-25 Mitchell "Glazed Nose" - Finished

So, it's Christmas Eve and for the last three years I have started a "big build" on this day.

Night shift tonight so there won't be anything done but this placeholder will be here and as far as I'm concerned I will have started it today.

This one is all Bruce's @pacificmustang fault.

I saw his beautiful build and was very tempted to give this a go.

Never built a Mitchell ever and this one looks good.

Anyway, on with some pics.

And the all important nose weight.

You do get a nice print in the box as well.

I also bought some after market to jazz it up a little.

This should all get kicked off when I finish my Night Shift stint.

Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Alistair

I suspect you’re gonna need a bigger bread bin to scale this rascal out, someone did mention one big enough for a French stick. All the best for Xmas. :santa:

Indeed a wise and sage person did do that. :D

He was right.

Merry Christmas to you. I hope you have a great time.

That looks a fun build there Alistair, with the A/M to go in/on her.

It should keep you busy for a couple of days/weeks.

I will get the kettle on mate.

Simon.

I've been itching to get on with it too.

Should keep me going for a while although there aren't many sprues.

The AM and the paint/weathering will take a while I think.

Cheer,

Alistair

Nice Alistair looking forward to this, the nose weight is a great feature , I remember doing the Italeri/Accurate Miniatures  kit having to stuff the weight in every available space, and just about got it to stand on its undercarriage legs,  st least this should stand up fine .

Hope the night shifts pass quickly and smoothly,  Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Thanks Chris,

I got a nice surprise when I got in last night as the engineers had cancelled their work so I was there until closedown then home and don't have to go in until tomorrow night.

YeeHah.

Merry Christmas to you and the Fragrant Mrs. Badge.

Nice. Certainly looks an improvement on the old Monogram 1/48 kit.

Is there realy only one markings option?

There are two options,

I just didn't show the instructions for it. Sorry.

Can’t wait until Sunday to see this one finished.

Thanks Mark,

Which particular Sunday, I note, you had the good grace not to mention. :D

Looks epic! Lots to savour there. We have a Mitchell that flies over the city once in awhile with rich tourists.

That would be a fun trip.

Weather absolutely foul, it's dark o'clock time to actually cut some plastic and finally make a start.

I had a spare hour so got this lot ready for some paint tomorrow.

Thanks Roger,

Now that I've cut plastic and stopped stressing about how to begin I think I will enjoy this one.

Great start Ali, gotta ask which company made those lovely salmon pink seats?    😉

From the carton, it appears to be CMK (Special Hobby).

Good start Alistair, you are going to be busy with the builds in progress.

Simon.

Thanks Simon,

I may have been a bit optimistic about having three on the go but let's see how it goes.
