More likely to be the Tornado F3 or even Typhoon.

The history of this unique variant is that it was rebuilt by Shorts as a specialised "Shorts SC.9" with the capability of carrying several different types of nose-mounted equipment for missile homing head trails. Then on to De Havilland Propellers at Hatfield where it spent many years as part of the "Red Top" guided missile trails programme. Another move saw XH132 transferred to Hawker Siddeley Dynamics for a continuation of the trails before going on to the Radar Research Establishment at Pershore in 1972 for "Sky Flash" guided weapon homing-head development in 1972.

It was fitted with AI.21 AIRPASS, as used in the Lighting.

Lovely looking build there Tinkerman, used to climb all over XH132 when it was at St Mawgan.

Hi Tinkerman, great work on the Canberra. I grew up in St Ives, just down the road from RAF Wyton, so often saw them flying over.

What kit did you use for this please? I would love to do a 1/72 version, but there doesn't seem to be many options available.

George.

Many thanks for all your kind comments. I should have added more,, like it's the Airfix 1/48 kit  with Alistair's Alley Cat conversion (was also available in 1/72 scale )

I don't have any more photos of the model, it's large  and in the attic in a huge box!! I do have quite a few more photos of the aircraft at that time so i will post those on the Walkaround page.

I seem to have opened a box of chocolates, as Forest G ump said (as opposed to a can of worms) so thank you all for your appreciation.

Incidentally, if anyone out there knows where/how I could get the stencil details printed up, please let me have the details
