Sorry for partial hijack HL-10.

Does the kit give the prominent ducts (heating?) seen under seats (There is also a vertical conduit not clearly seen here)?

No it doesn't.

Thanks for the picture. I'll add it to the model 😀

Been working on the cabin interior.

Have added some details to make it busier looking and have painted and weathered it:

I have also had a trial fit of the fuselage halves & the belly plate:

It all seems to fit with no major issues, so far! :)

On to the cockpit!

Main fuselage halves have been put together.

I used a bit of tape to hold it all together as it set.

No major problems found when putting it all together.

Tape off, all fitted together well. Just carrying on with the cockpit:

The paper seats in the main cabin turned out well:

Thanks for looking :)

Lovely work, it's really coming on a treat.

Are there any aftermarket decals available for 32nd Wessex?

Thank you!

I'm not aware of any A/M decals.

Looking great!!!!

Sad nobody has produced any aftermarket so far...NOTHING!

No PE, no resin, no decals...

I was hoping that at least someone would release a PE mesh for the air intake.

Looking forward to see more of your great build :)

That picture of the interior takes me back about forty years!

There are a couple of things missing from the model interior,

but they probably won't be missed by most people anyway.

I'm surprised that the intake door isn't a separate item.

At first glance it looks like Fly have got the transmission platform

doors wrong as Italeri did. The panels lines don't look right?

Or is it just the way the light was hitting it?

Oh, 72 Sqn please. Grey/Green and Black. Ta.

Scalewarship have produced these parts

that's all I'm aware of

I had planned to produce some etched parts for the Fly Wessex but so far have not had a chance to get mine out of the box so I don't see that happening any time soon

If anything is needed for this kit it is an intake grill.

Fly only provide a resin cover, if you want a grill you will have to make one yourself.

In the mean time,

a "handy" hint to all modellers,

Take care when using a brand new scalpel blade! AND, don't cut towards yourself!

Aw, sorry to see that!

I learnt early on when at college the power of a Swann Morton, dropped one in my leg which then slit it right open, which I hadn't realised until I felt the warmness of my blood soaked trousers!

Doesn't help when you're trying to avoid getting blood on the model either, hopefully recover quick enough.

The Pilots' seats are nicely detailed resin casting with seatbelts made from paper straps and etched buckles.

All I added was a representation of the fleece seat pad.

This was done using Milliput which was textured with wire wool.

Once painted,

There is a lot of detail to be added to the outside, etched, resin, and plastic parts:

It is quite a size:

Thanks for looking :)

I can't 100% speak for HC2s, it being a Cr*b machine and all that, but I'll be surprised if their belts aren't the same as RN.  Assuming I'm right (someone like @hendie could tell you for certain), then they are 5-point, not the 4-point you have built; the Quick Release Box is mounted on a short, fat piece of belt that comes up from below (which is why the front of the seat pack has that semi-circular cut-out), and there are two leg straps and two shoulder straps.

Eduard and other after-market providers don't seem to have cottoned on to this - I have yet to see a correct set of after market UK helicopter straps.

Whether you bother to change yours depends on how anal you are about strict accuracy.  The current ones look really good - but not completely accurate, I'm afraid.  Sorry!

EX-FAAWafu, you're spot on!

Found this:

seatbelt-on-the-co-pilots-seat-of-a-west

Says it is a HC2, so I will adjust mine.

Thanks for the heads up, I was just following the kit's instructions.

To cut one finger may be regarded as unfortunate; to cut two looks like carelessness! Sorry couldn't resist that one. :sorry: We've all done it and doubtless will all do it again.

The model is looking really good. I have a lot of time for Fly, their products make you think and work a fair bit but always deliver in the end in my experience.

I am tempted.  There's a few parts that I think need to be addressed.  The problem is that I haven't even taken mine out of the box yet so it would be many  months before anything would be ready and I don't know how much interest there would be.  I wonder if it's worth starting a thread on the subject to see what others would like to see as aftermarket goodies

Great idea!!!!

I would ask for a whole intake. The one in the box is a hole, as the resin FOD cover is supposed to be glued in place. There's a "wall" that starts half way down the intake...as far as I can remember.

Can't remember if one can see the compressor inlets, but I guess in 1/32 it's probable.

Tried to take a couple of pictures at Hendon, but unfortunately only had my mobile with me. I'll try to post the pics later...maybe they can help for the current build.
