Airfix May 27th: Something special is on the horizon...
Plastic Bonsai replied to Caerbannog's topic in The Rumourmonger
In January Airfix used a painting of the fire ship attack on the Spanish Armada in 1588 to announce the 1/48th Phantom F-4K so tenacity in tenuous. -

Well if there is a Fleet Air Arm connection...... ...reissue of the 1/48 Sea Vixen or a Buccaneer S1? -
1/32 HS Harrier (first generation) by Revell for Autumn 2027
Plastic Bonsai replied to 71chally's topic in The Rumourmonger
The FA2 had a plug in the fuselage aft of the wing. Revell could just mark the line to cut on the inside of the fuselage. Modified fin for extra pitot probe. Extended wing tips and a new nose. Possibly a different cockpit panel. No doubt the cockpit will be separate from the fuselage, ferry tips might be provided so not a great change. Plus AMRAAM. Their Meteor has a parts breakdown that would support several disparate marques so I await the parts layout with interest. As for the separate engine I would be happy with enough detail for an internal mounted engine -

And with the right breakdown even an FA2. Roll on Autum 2027! -
Dunsfold and scanned a Harrier the other year... that could be a Harrier ..GR7/9 lifting vertically out of the box. A full set of 1/32 Harriers 1 to 10 would be sweet.. especially to the standard of their Meteor. Not too big either. Odd there has been little released about this before now but Luke knows us well.it would explain the long gestation of the T7 if they were working on this instead.

This is the very stuff of Rumourmonger.... I chatted with a Model Shop owner the other day, and he said AiP were following up the 1/144 Thunderbird 2 with large Stingray and Fireball XL5 models. Timescales are uncertain in these uncertain times

The Halifax BIII is very nice. The last issue of the Eurofighter in 1/32 was criticised for seemingly being an upscaled 1/48 but still pretty good. There are a lot of colourful schemes on this aircraft now and a few more customers too. Should do well.

May I suggest some orchids? They don't look real. And Venus Fly Traps? Audrey II? (Sure looks like plant food to me.) .

First off. Thanks to all who posted the releases in the Rumourmonger thread. Exciting stuff this year with updates and re-issues. I hope everyone had at least one favourite. In the re-issues I personally liked the Skyvan and the 1/600 KGV and Prinz Eugen - yes I know that had issues - but I never finished mine when it was originally released. Anyone else?

New or re-release? Price is good.

The painting of the fire ships attacking the Spanish Armada made me think of Queen Elizabeth so 1/350 carrier or battleship. In the Royal Navy vein, possibly a 1/48 F-4K, re-issued FRS 1 or Scimitar.... Roll on Wednesday.

Another me too. Hopefully on a lesser scale than most but I normally only check the rumourmonger thread for any sign of the kits I would love to see and probably would buy. I recently took my untouched models to my brother's 350 miles away and whilst this was modest compared to many here it was enough to think I really should stop getting kits from a regular auction site because the prices were good... though I still check each listing when they turn up. My main problem is that I have a lot of started kits stuck at the painting stage which I struggle to get past. Trying to switch to acrylics didn't help either. I am resolved to finish them and salvage some satisfaction and assuage my guilt for having them as well. Nevertheless I do love this sometimes silly hobby and am grateful to have had it all my life. I appreciate Nic's very open honesty and heartily agree with his views on the current mental health situation as well. We all have value and worth. As long as you can see that in yourself then that is all that matters. Be well.

Is there any chance Revell could update their single seater with those seats and some UK stores? Asking for a friend.

Well that was fun while it lasted. So the only truths in the release was not a Spitfire in 1/24..... Anyway. Revell?
