  1. There is a Heller advert in February's Airfix Modelworld saying it is a new kit with 5 sets of markings. Has Revell returned their old mold? It says 128 parts.
  2. They are quickbuild (Lego) style but the video shows the tracks moving so I for one am intrigued.
  3. Loking at the video these have 154 parts, moving tracks and opening hatches. Possible candidates for motorization?
  4. https://uk.airfix.com/products/quickbuild-tiger-i-j6041 https://uk.airfix.com/products/quickbuild-sherman-firefly-j6042 A strange thing to find buried away. They have hidden a lot of of these releases. Airfix appear to be really going for these Quickbuilds and in this case scaling up last years releases. Will they be doing the Hawk and Lightning II as well?
  5. https://uk.airfix.com/products/starter-set-eurofighter-typhoon-fgr4-a55016 Another starter kit. No sign of the inner inner pylons.
  6. https://uk.airfix.com/products/starter-set-rnli-shannon-class-lifeboat-a55015 A starter set. Some of the price will go to the RNLI. Hopefully will see this kit on sale in the RNLI stations that are open to the public...along with the re-issued Severn Class lifeboat.
  7. I initially missed that this was 1/48. Not an era I have done much in but the 1/72 Model decal sheet of pre war fRAF fighters had some gorgeous colours, particularly the roundel blue that I fancy a few of these. Hopefully there will br more like this.
  8. I do wonder what Airfix base their choices on. It did look like the new Spitfire IXc was well received. A new Me109 or P-51 to the same standard would possibly have similar reaction. Or re-release the Mosquito with the BIV as an option? The 1/48th Sea King,, Buccaneer and Gannet looked good as well so another 1/48 foldy like the F-4K could have all the options of their 1/72 version but without all the many extra parts. Or just re-release the Sea Vixen. If they did the Angel Interceptor in 1/72 or even 1/48th I would enjoy a simple all white scheme. Or just re-release the TSR-2. Some Thunderbirds or other TV classics like DSV Liberator, Stingray or Fireball XL5. Or just re-release Wallace and Gromit in time for their new film.
  9. a) New Tool : 1/48 Harrier GR 5/7/9 b) Up/Down Scale: 1/72 Vampire FB3/5 c) Vintage Classic: HMS Leander d) Surprise Release: 1/72 P-47 And how about e) Reissue with new decals/parts 1/48 Hunter T7/8/12 ... and some different models in Lidl/Aldi next xmas please!
  10. Announcing a kit when it is ready is a nice change. We get a surge of interest and data and then the first builds in short order. All very exciting. There are some nice references in the promotion video as well. I can see a 1/48 Ark Royal IV (partial?) flight deck in my future.
  11. I suggest you remark to every delivery driver who calls on you that it's not your car and get a lot of bird seed with extra bran.
  12. I struggled with the 1/72 Meteor as well and I am of a similar age to you Trenton. The modern kits lack something, possibly scope for adding some improvements. Not a fan of the F-35 myself but I will try this one.
  13. Update on the airfix workbench. https://uk.airfix.com/community/blog-and-news/workbench/new-f-35b-lightning-ii-ready-airfix-service
  14. And did they mention the War? The Germans did do a Monty python series in German with the UK cast. American comedy series have to have successful and likeable characters which is not the stuff of British comedy.
  15. Oh so I cant turn up at their showroom in Margate and bend the manager's ear about all things Airfix... if the cameras aren't there? Anyway they should consider trainer versions. Others have followed on with trainer versions of the Harrier and Lightning and Vampire. I would prefer a few of these instead of seemingly endless re-marked versions.I was suprised when Airfix opted for the T11 as their sole Vampire n 1/72. As for the T7 and the Shoreham tragedy I would point out there are plenty of other examples in their range and others of aircraft with awful accidents in their history. None include those particular aircraft in the markings options do they? As for the program I appreciate even the slightest insight into the design and manufacture process and hope other manufactures would do similar. Maybe James May could front a telly modelling magazine?
  16. That is neater than what I managed. Mind you I only realised the lLS ariel's shouldn't be there when I was putting the Ark Royal "R" decal on the fin so it was a quick cut and touch up only. Looking forward to seeing this finished.
  17. Going well. I am trying to put the same together myself. There are a couple of simple gotchas in that the ILS aerials should be removed as they are RAF fit and the right? Hand seams on the wing tanks should be removed.
  18. 3,2,1 and back in the room. 2 days solid applying tiny decals to an Airfix RN Phantom. The "accident" damaged the sheet and I've lost some of the individual markings but there are plenty of tiny details to tax my patience but so far (194) I am still going. And yes every thing is 8ft up.
  19. First fail today though I claim mitigating circumstances. My partner put a bag of ice cubes on some decal sheets I was using for a few hours and they are now FUBAR. As they were all Airfix I have put in a request/plea for their replacement and offered to pay as well. There will now be a brief hiatus whilst I make provision to be able to keep everything at least 8 ft up and find the will to carry on.
  20. The starter set art work would suggest it could be modelled in the STOVL configuration though the models they have shown don't show that.
  21. Thank you Airfix. Tempted by the S2B and FGA9 in 1/48 and the Hunter's box art is excellent but I'll wait for the AEW Gannet that must come. Bit suprised by the F35/Dambuster Lanc boxing though I get the 617 link.
  22. In. I have a Shed of doom to sort and it needs a concerted effort. I tend to stall at the air brushing stage which is where most of them are at but I've lined a few up with similar paint needs and made a start. Today it was ESDG on a F4-K and Shack AEW 3.
  23. I hope Airfix are not going to produce anything that would interest me as I have a SHED of Dooooooom to sort so hopefully they do none of the following: 1/48 Buccaneer S2B 1/48 Harrier GR1/3 1/48 Harrier GR 5/7/9 1/48 F4 K/M 1/48 Jaguar GR1/3 1/350 Type 12/21/22/23 (any or all) Though knowing my luck they probably will.
